Hello everybody, this is "CrappyCaptureDevice," and I was directed to these boards by Johan's Nidorino and ParrotHead1983. I was told that there is much Nintendo expertise here. ;D
I am currently working on (though nearly finished) on a video project that compares Melee's elements with their originals found in their original games. I've been posting my work on YouTube.
Now with that being said, I'm almost finished, but there are few things that I would like clarification on before posting one of my upcoming videos, particularly the video on costumes.
(If this thread is in the wrong place, please move it.)
The first one is the origin of Captain Falcon's black alternative costume. ParrotHead1983 told me that he heard that it came from people cosplaying as Captain Falcon in the Japanese F-Zero X commercial. I can't find this commercial anywhere, so can somebody confirm this one way or the other?
It was also mentioned that one of his alternative costumes comes from the F-Zero X Expansion Kit, but I messaged a guy on YouTube that has it, and he said that only thing that a person gets is this, which he sent to me:
(I am aware of Captain Falcon's Blood Falcon, Jody Summer and maybe Nico costumes.
The second question - Is one of Mewtwo's alternative costumes a "shiny" Mewtwo? When I played Pokémon Red/Gold, I never got any shiny Pokémon, let alone a shiny Mewtwo, so I wouldn't know what one looks like. >_>
The third question - Do the Pikachu party hat/ cowboy hat costumes have origins? I know that his first alternative costume comes from him wearing Satoshi's (Ash's) hat. (I am least familiar with the Pokémon games out of all of Nintendo's franchises. And annoyingly enough, it's the franchise that has the most details in it when it comes to this stuff. I am also not a fan of the anime, and Melee seems to have taken a few things from the show and movies.)
The fourth question - Do any of Marth or Roy's alternative costumes have origins? I know that Marth's white alternative costume comes from Leaf's costume in Fire Emblem Thracia 776. But, given Fire Emblem's line of games, I can't help but wonder if there's more origins than that.
That's it for now. I have a few other questions for other videos, but I don't want to make my post too long, so I'll post them later. I also know that I've made a few mistakes in some of my posted videos (either omission or incorrect info), and I will go back and fix those as soon as I get the rest of the videos wrapped up.
If you can answer any of my questions, I would deeply appreciate it! Thanks in advance!
