Green Hill Zone Sonic’s stage is a hidden stage. It’s like the Sega Genesis makes a comeback as Nintendo hardware! Wooow, you can see the famous shuttle loop in the back there! Even the places you won’t see have been made just right... One of the key features of the terrain here is the big, gently sloping dip in the ground. It’s a good place for Sonic to make runs through. No stopping now! However, if it takes enough impacts from attacks, the middle sections of the ground drop off. The ground falls away in blocks. The surface splits in three places. As the terrain changes, your tactics also have to change. Take a look at the items that are appearing, your opponents, etc., and adjust accordingly.
On the course in the background, three guests will occasionally pass by: Tails, Knuckles, and Silver. Here they come, but they’re kinda small... Actually though, this is how detailed we’ve drawn them! Probably just because we like them so much.

If you hit them, they spin around. If a character hits them while they're spinning, they do damage.

This stage is awesome, and if your really interested here is a battle (not really a spoiler) of Mario vs Sonic battling on Green Hill Zone. You can learn more about the stage and appearances of Knuckles, Tails and Silver - look out for them ;D Mario vs. Sonic Green Hill Brawl

Why do Tails, Knuckles and Silver (what the hell are you doing here?) look better than Pokemon Trainer or the Pokeball Pokemon? I'm glad you like them Sakurai, but, eh, why?

Someone has got to say it, so I will: Tails, Knuckles, and Silver confirmed for Brawl!
I really don't understand why they included Silver. Just Knuckles and Tails would've been fine. However, if they were to add another, I thought that SEGA would probably ask them to use Shadow.

I did not know the stage collasped a la Skyland. Awesome. Another stage I'm looking forward to. ^_^ Certainly looks like Nintendo and Sakurai knew what to do for a Sonic stage.

Green Hill Zone is not Skyland. When Skyland's floor is destroyed, there is still a cloud platform for you to stand - Green Hill Zone seem not to have anything for you to stand..

Because most of the background models come from previous games, and the Pokemon have had pretty much the same models since Pokemon Stadium!

Cool stage yes. I think it's looks nice. Only problem is Green Hill Zone is so cliche at this point.

Nah, I was actually glad they based Sonic's stage on Green Hill Zone, and not on one of the less memorable locations from a more recent title. Sonic's inclusion is only allowed on the basis that there's as much crazy MD/Genesis stuff in there as possible. That'll take me back to my childhood... where Mario and Sonic fighting was the dream duel!

I wouldn't of minded a stage based on a Sonic Adventure level, but Green Hill Zone is just too memorable.
