original characters!
nah, I hope not. I do like the Subspace enemies and all, but that's really not what the game is about. I want more Nintendo enemies and Nintendo bosses! Goombas and Troopas are great, but there's a lot more out there beyond Super Mario Bros to pull enemies from.

The sheer lack of Sonic enemies is shocking, especially considering the outrageous variety they have (since every game has a brand-new set of Badniks).

I guess they decided to go all out with the "enemies from a completely different world" concept. As for SSBDS, all I'd want is a port of the original with Marth, Pit and a Wi-Fi mode added.

I think a Smash DS would work if it instead had one character from eahc franchise instead of a crapton of secondary characters. It would allow room for more franchise representation and obscure exposition.

If all they were going to do is add a few features to SSB64, they'd at least make the two added characters newcomers. Isaac and Andy seem like good choices, since Advance Wars and Golden Sun were must-have software for the GBA. Plus why should FE constantly get more representation than Nintendo Wars?

It would allow room for more franchise representation and obscure exposition. I had the same thought a while ago. Why should Lucario get in over an original protagonist? What makes Wolf more deserving than Andy? What is with the lack of Custom Robo representation? Even if we only got 20 characters, that would still be a large amount of franchises, far more than Melee. But then, most Smash fans are absolute whores over secondary characters, hence the massive support for characters like Geno and Ridley.

I think a Smash DS would work if it instead had one character from eahc franchise instead of a crapton of secondary characters. It would allow room for more franchise representation and obscure exposition. So your talking ONE character for each? Your talking Mario without Luigi? Link without Zelda? Fox without Falco? That would take away a great number of essentials for some who don't really deserve it. And for my idea, I would make it 3D characters on 2D stages. The stages don't need multiple frames and constant changes and won't take up too much space. It would need, what, one image? That's one file compared to multiple files needed for a polygon. 3D characters only needs one file for the polygon and a few for movement, while a sprite would need TONS of different images and is very time consuming. Items and trophies would be 2D as well. This would allow for multiple characters, and MUCH more than SSB64 because of the extra space. And why does everyone want a direct port of SSB64 with only 3 added characters? A DS cartrage holds 12x the memory of a N64 cartridge. So they could make a game 12 times bigger! They could make it completely different from SSB64, but you guys are talking about a game that could fit in the N64 cartridge, in other words, taking up ONE TWELFTH of the DS card's space! That would kind of be a dissapointment to me. And yes, WiFi FTW. And maybe a smaller version of SSE. A lot smaller. But big enough to be awesome! ;D

Especially given that when you break them open, a baby chick pops out. I have to wonder if Sakurai and Co. designed the Tickens with Sonic in mind...

Every Subspace enemy looks like a bastardized version of some other enemy.
