Peach can hover through the sky if you keep holding the jump command. This is an important technique even though it’s not a special move. She delicately floats around. This is a unique, versatile technique you can use to recover. You can also hover low to put the brakes on an opponent’s attack pattern. <Standard Special Move: Toad> No, not a real toad. Toad, from the Mario series. You know, like a toadstool.
This technique lets the princess use Toad as a shield. Block the opponent’s attack like this... Toad counterattacks with spores! The spores spread out in a fanlike flurry. The closer the opponent, the more damage you can deal. It’s probably better to use this technique when you REALLY need it—if you try to reflect everything coming your way, your opponent will find you predictable.
If you can tactfully reel foes in, you can counterattack opponents behind you, as well. <Down Special Move: Vegetable> This one is important. It seems that the better the player is, the more vegetables the player uses. She pulls the vegetable from the ground... ' ...And throws it as an item! You can use this as a throwing item, at your will, in all directions. It’s perfect to break up your opponent’s rhythm.
By the way, the face on the vegetable randomly changes. You want to watch out for one face, though... This one. There’s a 1/58 chance this one will appear, and it can deal damage of 30% or more. The face with dot-shaped eyes also has high striking power. Be careful not to give it to the opponent!

One of the eternal Mario questions has no been answered: Do Toads have spores? I applaud Sakurai and Co. for finally answering this wholly inane question. Now, if only we could find out why the hills have eyes.... On a side note, before this update, I thought Toad was spraying steam for some reason.

Another special moves update. I have always thought Peach is cruel be pulling out a toad to protect her. Don't you think?

Well, it's not like their good for anything else. Bowser attacks? They run. Cackletta /Shroobs /Smithy/ etc. attack? They run. So at least Peach is getting their worth out of them, y'know?

They hardly do a good job protecting her when Bowser comes to kidnap her! Peach was actually pretty good in Melee, maybe she will be the same in Brawl. 6 days to wait...

I'll give you the answer: Peach is pretty much weakened in Brawl, and some consider her the weakest charater in overall. At least to say, her Final Smash... well, you know. It does nothing more than giving a brief sleep and then have the ENEMIES healed. And the stupid fixed 40% maximum infliction.

While I agree that Peach got nerfed (all of her explosive attacks have been turned into much weaker heart-based magic attacks, including her Buttsplosion move), her Final Smash is a lot more useful than you make it out to be XD you just gotta eat all the peaches before your enemies wake up. That's the risk you have to take, either go on the offensive or heal yourself up.

My inquisition about the ocular capabilities of the hills still stands tho!

I'd heard she was nerfed, which made me sad because I liked kicking butt with her in Melee, but despite her buttsplosion and down-smash being nerfed, she's still a really good character. She just has a new strategy about her. In one match, I was playing as Peach and Toad alone had six KO's. She's WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than Jigglypuff . At least, that's my opinion. I do plan on trying said spoiler character more. I've heard his/her air attacks are the way to go.

Peach is never, EVER played with either group I smash with. She popped up on occasion in Melee because she was "lol top-tier" and we did okay with her, but she's far weaker in Brawl IMO. Her veggies don't seem as useful, her jumps are a not nearly as high, and her other specials just suck hardcore. Even her super awesome Fair (the crown slap) is severely weakened, while her Dsmash also took a severe (and that's severe with bloody fangs and a bazooka) hit. I think the only moves of hers that are any useful STILL are her Utilt and Usmash. Her Fsmash is still so-so, but the frying pan blows balls just as much as her other stuff. Some more things to say about why I hate, and never play, Peach in Brawl: 1. Her taunts are dumb 2. She's light as hell 3. You never EVER face her in Classic hardly ever 4. Her voice is quiet and squeaky, and the VA mumbles a lot of her lines 5. Her Final Smash is a crapshoot because it can be easily dodged by not touching the ground The only perks to Peach, I think: 1. Costumes are still cool, and "Daisy" looks more spot-on 2. Her dancing taunt is amusing 3. Her FS plays the SMB3 World 5 theme (you can hear it if you play in slow-mo) And a few other things that bother me in general concerning Peach... You need to play as her to unlock something that shouldn't force you to, y'know, USE her when you use it (because she sucks). Also, there's like... ZERO Mario 2 anything in this game. The lack of Mushroom Kingdom II is a slap, but not as big as the lack of the music from that game. You'd think if Peach was the Mario 2 "rep" she would have more content to bring along with her, but they were too busy beefing up Luigi and Wario as solo-characters to notice little ol' Peachy. Of course, I rant when I NEVER played as her in Melee either

At least ended up having that kickass Fortress/Boss Battle remix whenever you faced her in tSsE.

So Peach got nerfed? Thats a shame. She wasn't a main for me in Melee but it was fun playing anyway. Fox is easily my best character and theres quite a difference between the two characters. I'm pushed to the extreme with Gdorf though, he is so heavy and slow that I just cant use him.

I'm pushed to the extreme with Gdorf though, he is so heavy and slow that I just cant use him. Fox is still wicked fast in Brawl, and his attacks are all a bit more powerful for the most part; he gets some sick aerial moves now. I believe you'll find him still in your range of playability
SPOiLER: Ganondorf, on the other hand, is so burly that he's actually slower in Brawl than he was in Melee, so he'll probably be harder for you to use. XD I imagine King Dedede and Ike will give you the same problem since they all move slowly and their moves lag a bit. Wolf may even wind up causing you some trouble since he moves pretty slow too...for a Star Fox character. He's mid-speed compared to the rest of the roster, but noticably slower than Fox or Falco. Kinda took me off guard, since I'm used to my Star Fox characters being speedy.Anyway, back on topic, I like Peach's voice this time around because some of her victory taunts can be horribly misinterpreted due to her tone of voice. She still goes "Ohh, did I win?" except she accentuates the word 'win' and instead of being an airhead, she sounds like she's being a dick. XD Like she's saying, "You suck too hard to win." Wasn't a big fan of the melee voice, though.
The fact that Peach got nerfed doesn't bug me that much to be honest, though. I never used her much in Melee and like I mentioned in another topic, I'm having more fun with Newcomers than I am with veterans. *shrug*

Aye, Peach wasn't my favorite, either, so her being weaker doesn't affect me *shrugs* I do like her voice, though.
