So now that we've had some time to play with the game, I wanted to know what you guys felt was underwhelming, or could have been better. Or if there was anything particular that should have been added (beyond a new roster) or brought back from previous games. Just keep it real (not 50 characters).

Just keep it real (not 50 characters). 1) The sticker powerup thing was cool and all but I never really used it. 2) Where are the Nintendo enemies? 3) LANDMASTER! Thats all I've got. Oh BTW your post was the forums 55,555th congrats.

Yeah, LANDMASTUH! was a big gripe of mine. Also (as recently discussed) the fact you had to beat classic and all star twice/thrice to get both of Samus', Zelda's, and Pokemon Trainer's trophies.

My only gripes are no second F-Zero character, less balance in stages, Nintendo sucks with online capabilities but at least Sakurai did what he could, and not enough Other trophies. They could have made trophies for Duck Hunt, Balloon Fight (come on, the fish is in the Ice Climber stage. if the MOON got a trophy in Melee the fish should too), a few Famicom Disk System gems and Professor Hector. I did want Nester/Lark but we did get EBA, one trophy that's America/UK only.
SSE in my opinion is a perfect way for Sakurai to probably leave the series. It's not very replay-friendly unless you play a new file. Then it's more fun to play with FMVs and such. Which I enjoy doing. ALSO, it's KSS2, gameplay-wise.

First I must said, while with Melee it felt like it was lacking in some franchises severely ( No Wario, Pit or Banjo as characters? No Punch-Out or Fire Emblem trophies? lousy Kirby and Donkey Kong representation?) But Brawl nailed pretty well as the ultimate Nintendo anthology, if there were never going to be another smash, I would be still pretty satisfied with it, as every main Nintendo Franchise got represented somehow (if not as a Character, it had Stage or an assist trophy) But since this is nitpicking topic, these are my main beefs with Brawl: Little "Famicon Wars" representation; I believe Wars is a franchise big and old enough to get something else besides "assist trophy+stickers" (If not a character, maybe a stage a song or one trophy that isn't a huge GBA sprite) I still felt Snake stole the place of a Wars character in the roster. Original content in SSE I would have liked more Nintendo enemies besides just Mario enemies. Why so much love for "Marionation Gear" it seemed like Sakurai had worked on that too (that and Magical Starsingh but at least I knew of that game) Metal Gear, As I said before It fells like all that MGS love took space that should have been gone to Wars or CustomRobo or another Nintendo Series (I´m not complaining about Sonic, because he got in only because Snake let the door open+annoying fanboys) Why take out Mewtwo, he is a lot more different from Lucairo than Wolf, Falco from Fox, the only reason I can see is to avoid the over saturation of First generation Pokémon. :-/This game needed some online trading for trophies an stikers. But thats all, in fact if they had added a Wars character (preferably Samy) I wouldn´t complain at all

One that sticks out in my mind is the lack of an Ultimate Chimera trophy. Unlike, say, Arcade DK, most people aren't going to have any idea what it is. The same could be said for Electroplankton. The lack of Nintendo enemies is baffling, especially since you can see how some of them are thinly veiled Nintendo enemies anyway. It'd have been awesome to fight Metroids, Waddle Dees, Koopas and Octoroks in the same game. Oh well. And I for one use stickers often. I didn't the first time through SSE, but on subsequent playthroughs on Intense mode, I'll deck out my characters with knockback reducers, attack enhancers and stickers to increase the appearence of stickers.

Qu, you forgot the Balloon Fight fish. And hell, Condor should have had a trophy.

Agreed, agreed. I might make a "What Trophies should have been in Brawl?" topic later, as long as no one posts a list and gets it locked.

Yeah no trophies of any retro junk was a bit of a downer. I know we got retro stickers instead, but that's not really an improvement over Melee.
Seconding SSE badguys. I know the subspace scum are the main badguys, but a few more enemies from other franchises wouldn't hurt. Kinda expected fighting Bronto Burts and Shy Guys, ahwell.
Those are my small gripes really. Pretty damn satisfied with the game.

The Kremling Krew could have fit in somewhere, I thought, but then again I liked Bowser taking K. Rool's role and stealing the banana hoard.

Complaints with characters?
Umm...probably Lucario's and Sonic's inclusion and the lack of Mewtwo and Roy. Other than that the roster is perfectly great.
For other complaints: -Lack of retro and other trophies -SSE was really dull although the boss concept is awesome. -Characters with same final smashes plus Ganondorf needs to wield a sword as an alternate moveset -Lack of alt. costumes -Not being able to use the SSE sticker feature in regular battles -Needs more advanced online
But those are just small gripes, the game is fucking great.

Metal Gear, As I said before It fells like all that MGS love took space that should have been gone to Wars or CustomRobo or another Nintendo Series (I´m not complaining about Sonic, because he got in only because Snake let the door open+annoying fanboys) If Snake hadn't been put in, there's still a big chance Sonic would've been put in anyway. The demand was massive, even when Melee came out. Call it annoying fanboyism if you will, but... well, as far as I'm concerned the constant moaning about 3rd party characters being in Brawl is annoying fanboyism of a much worse kind.

Right, I haven't played the game but I already have a couple of points where I am disappointed:
1. The trophies this time around are fairly disappointing. There's quite a few references to recent titles, but little in the way of old games, which was a lot of the fun from Melee.
2. Third party characters. Not for the reason you expect - there's simply not enough of them! Two seems like such a poor number, while 3-4 would have seemed quite satisfying - a celebration of Nintendo's third party relationships. Two just seems like soulless marketing. I'd have preferred there to be none.
I've also heard the SSE is one of the weakest parts of the game, online is poorly implemented, and that I'm not a playable character. All of these things are likely to annoy me more when I get the game.

I'd have preferred there to be none. I was hoping for five. Snake, Sonic, Pac-Man, Mega Man and Bomberman would've made it my perfect game. I would've been just as happy with that minus Bomberman, too... Pac-Man and Mega Man seemed like such obvious choices.
