^ I don't know about Packy, but Mega Man would've been so awesome. Oh well, we can only hope there's another Smash.

I feel like this topic is just flamebait for certain forum members, but I guess if it's just kept in here it's okay, right? Summed up, some of my gripes: 1)Severe lack of "Other" trophies. They're all from the huge franchises like Mario, Zelda, and Kirby with very little from anything else. 2)Some of the older characters feel playless. Not that they aren't balanced or anything, but they just aren't interesting anymore thanks to changes from Melee. (Mario, Link, Peach, and Samus stick right out). 3)Not enough Nintendo content in SSE. Understandably it was meant to be a more original game, but it could have used Octorocks, Kremlings, Bowser Jr., and other random crap in there. It would have made more sense for the Subspace Army to be using nearly ALL the Nintendo villains. 4)Stickers are basically a replacement for trophies. 5)Stage Builder is FUN AS HELL, but you can only pick from three "themes" and backgrounds. 6)Online is incredibly choppy. 7)As far as Classic/All-Star and Stadium Mode stuff, I don't feel like I'm playing anything more than Melee 2.0. 8)It easily could have done with one or two more characters, preferably 3rd Party. Simon Belmont and Tails, anyone?

SSE was AMAZING, Fry. If you loved Kirby Super Star, anyways. Also, the story is one of the most moving in a Nintendo game and brings back memories.

I feel like this topic is just flamebait for certain forum members, but I guess if it's just kept in here it's okay, right? I support that, lets make that an unwritten rule and keep the moaning inside this topic . -Characters with same final smashes plus Ganondorf needs to wield a sword as an alternate moveset. But those are just small gripes, the game is wizzleing great. I agree with characters with the same Final Smashes (specially Fox, Falco and Wolf but knowing Sakurai, this has reached a point where if SSB4 is made and Kristal gets in, he will give her a Landmaster to, just to annoy the Fans) As for the Ganondorf part... NO! What Ganondorf needs its a Final Smash similar to Zero Suit Samus where he changes into a Playable Ganon, complete with trident, unfortunately thats to blame Twiligth Princess and not Brawl for Turning Ganon into a brute four legged best. Agreed, agreed. I might make a "What Trophies should have been in Brawl?" topic later, as long as no one posts a list and gets it locked. Agreed to, but even better, lets make descriptions for those trophies, so we can help Fry with his all star section. If Snake hadn't been put in, there's still a big chance Sonic would've been put in anyway. The demand was massive, even when Melee came out. Call it annoying fanboyism if you will, but... well, as far as I'm concerned the constant moaning about 3rd party characters being in Brawl is annoying fanboyism of a much worse kind. Any kind of Fanboyism is Annoying, I actually like Sonic in Brawl, he has many games on Nintendo systems (unlike Snake) but I still believe that if Sakurai hadn´t made that favor to his Friend Kojima, Nintendo would still have had played deaf to all that sonic demand. Actually I expect next Smash (if it ever comes out) to have more Third parties, there is no way Nintendo can get the kind of publicity and "Whoa! Factor" they had in Brawl with only first and second party stuff anymore, they would have to bring the Pacmans, Megamans, and Bombermas to make it shine (and even if we don´t like it, the Soras, Clouds, Sephirots and all those otheroverated characters) those are the kind of guys that can bring new fans to the Smash series. I've also heard the SSE is one of the weakest parts of the game, online is poorly implemented, and that I'm not a playable character. All of these things are likely to annoy me more when I get the game. Even if its one of the weakest parts of the game it is still a HUUUGE! Improvement over Melee adventure mode, its even better than some of Nintendo's latest farmed plataformers (like Wario Master of disguise, Yoshi´s Island DS and Kirby Squeak squad come to mind)

What really upsets me is that there is only one new Kirby stage. If they have three Kirby characters, then why not make room for another related stage?

Any kind of Fanboyism is Annoying, I actually like Sonic in Brawl, he has many games on Nintendo systems (unlike Snake) Snake does have a lot of games on Nintendo systems. Not as many as Sonic, sure, but then Snake doesn't have as many games as Sonic. I'm hoping, personally, that his appearance in Brawl will push Konami to give us Nintendo fans more Metal Gear love. And I also wish there were more new stages. I really think there should have been two new stages for Kirby and StarFox. Mario gets... what... four? And Metroid gets two, too. Where's the Kirby love? Halberd doesn't even have that much of a Kirby vibe to it.

2. Third party characters. Not for the reason you expect - there's simply not enough of them! Two seems like such a poor number, while 3-4 would have seemed quite satisfying - a celebration of Nintendo's third party relationships. Two just seems like soulless marketing. I'd have preferred there to be none. I was hoping for five. Snake, Sonic, Pac-Man, Mega Man and Bomberman would've made it my perfect game. I would've been just as happy with that minus Bomberman, too... Pac-Man and Mega Man seemed like such obvious choices. Well, beside Megaman, there wasn't much request for Bomberman or Pac-man. Most of the top request were Nintendo characters, besides Sonic (Megaman was on the lower end. Contended, but not enough). So, I don't think the idea was to celebrate third party relations, but that it turned into something much different becuase of Snake. Honestly, I think it's a lot more like how Soul Caliber did it, with them being guest. Not really worth your time and effort to celebrate the past of other people creations. I think brawl did it well. They are there, and they get a good amount of attention, something that would be much harder to pull of with 3 or 4 of them. I have a few. One of the ones is how unbalanced All-Stars is now (due to items). Most of the time now, you'll lose not becuase the CPU upped and killed you, but becuase it got a hammer or Pokeball. I would add a Mulligan system. If you die, and can restart that level, but instead, you'll start with the same damage you began with. Multi-man (100) is a lot less fun. It was great in Melee, but now it's not a survival test, but a test to see if you can best 25 guys. They are incredibly stupid until you get to 25 where they mop the floor with you. There really isn't balanced in terms of difficulty. Just keep the system Melee had with all the new additions (two new types, people come in). Pokeballs also got dumbed down and aren't as interesting (ATs are pretty good though). It also would have been great if you could have Very High items. They are so fun in this game, but they don't come enough.

I hate how Animal Crossing got a fuckload of representation, but no character. It got tons of trophies even a stage! That's one more stage than R.O.B. got.
What's with Bridge of Eldin as being the only Twilight Princess stage? It's so boring! The Great Sea is a fun stage, but Bridge of Eldin just sucks.
There are two Pokemon stages that are pretty much exactly the same. Okay, we got Spear Pillar, but two we really need two Pokemon Stadium stages? Where is Saffron City! Speaking of Saffrom City, the lack of 64 stages also pissed me off...
PHEW!

I'd have loved it if the extra effort went in to bringing ALL of the old stages back. It would have also meant that the new stages would have to be a lot more creative. But when talking SSB64, most people only want Saffron City and MAYBE Hyrule Castle back anyway

My vote goes to Hyrule Castle. I loved that stage TVeye raises a good point about the Zelda stages though, Bridge of Eldin is kinda boring, I thought they could have added a least one more Zelda stage. Its all good otherwise

The stages got dumbed down this time. They are definitely worlds in of themselves with their own gimmicks and all that, but there is definitely far too little franchise stages in the game. The Melee stages are good additions but they should have added more or 64 stages, because being on their own page = totally forgotten. We NEVER play Melee stages--it's always Custom or Brawl.
The severe lack of a third Kirby or third Star Fox stage is strange. I should say, really, second for either because Melee stages are basically useless in this game. They should have just scrapped them and made 8 fresh stages. Like...
Mt. Dedede, a boxing arena with audience - KIRBY Rainbow Route, an Amazing Mirror themed stage like Green Greens - KIRBY Sauria, basically Corneria but over the Dinosaur Planet - STAR FOX Donut Plains, a new Mario World themed level - YOSHI Classic Mushroom Kingdom III, a Mario 3 themed world - MARIO Hector's Lab, a funky Gyromite inspired level - R.O.B. - F-ZERO - Some other series
Basically, that's what the game needed I figure

Here was an idea I've had for another Kirby stage:
PopStar Express: A locomotive of some sort bound for many places across Dream Land. The brawling would take place on the train as it goes around. Occasionally, it stops at many a station, and you can see passengers boarding and getting off.

Speaking of poor Smash 64 representation, I wanted to see both Fighting Polygon Team music and Metal Mario music, those two tunes are some of my favorite tunes ever (we just got one Smash 64 track , just one!)

Like some of you may have said, a balance between franchises would be good. Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon always seem to dominate in content.

Lack of characters and a more fleshed out level creator...
The characters I missed where some Japan-only characters like:
Demille and Takamaru, but also characters like Vaati, a MOTHER villian, Gardevoir (playable) and the same for Lynn... (why that dick-head IKE?! He's just another Marth with spiky hair! >_<
