This game won't do well against Guitar Hero and Rock Band, really. Song selection will be public domain, (sales wise) Just Rock Band, yes, by a long shot. The game only sold 1.68 million (on one system. The other version isn't there so it didn't move). 2million max probably. Guitar Hero may be a different story simply becuase it releases on multiple consoles. Wii Music will probably do as well as all the others. Each game has broken 5million. Wii Play sold 6million in the US where it was not bundled with the console. Nintendo is banking on this selling 2million in Japan alone. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it. It may not be a game you like, but the Wii series sells like hot cakes.

Some more unique instruments in Wii Music have been shown at PAX. There is a NES horn that is shaped liked a NES controller that emits 8 bit square and triangle waves. A cheerleader, who cheers in time to the music and a cat suit (I don't know if it's somebody mistakening it for the puppy suit) that makes cat noises. Here's an article about it, which is more positve about the game then when it was shown at E3.

While I don't have any interest in this game, I can't help but chuckle at the doomsayers that act as if this signaled the death of Nintendo/harcore gaming/gaming in its entirety/whatever else that goes here.

Here's a video of Miyamoto visiting a Preschool and letting the kids play Wii Music. (Note. video is 13:45 minutes long). EDIT: Gotta love the bit where they point out Kazumi Totaka and the link he has to the dog Totakeka/K.K. Slider from Animal Crossing.

I thought that was hilarious! Sure, kids are retarded. You want soething to really piss you off, I saw a kid playing FireRed, and I told him how I remembered the old Red and Blue versions, this is how it ended... Kid: Do you mean Ruby and Saphire? Me: No, Red and Blue. There was a Yellow version as well where Pikachu followed you. Kid: There's no such thing. This is a real Pokemon game. Me: Kid...are you on crack? Well, I didn't actually ask if he was high. But I was thinking it. That kid was a little bit ch.

You shoulda just said "This was back in '98... ahh, I remember the days when there was only 151 Pokémon and everyone was doing a dance called the FUNKY Pokérap? 'Oh I'm the...' *snore*"

Why get pissed at kids when there are more creppy/stupid adults to be pissed at. What they said was not specific to Japan. This is evident by 1)Height=age. To a child, people who are taller are older. Their parents are older. The parents are taller. To a child, this makes sence. 2)Children will only know what they've been exposed to. So the game Mario Brothers is only known to a child or two becuase the others started on Mario Party and Mario Galaxy.

Here's a Wii Music video entitled " Butchering The Legend of Zelda." It has the dog suit, the cat suit, the cheerleader outfit, a banjo and a electric guitar and drums playing the The Legend of Zelda theme. Also here's a comment by Matt Casamassina from IGN talking about Wii Music. "I'm going to continue tooling around with the multiplayer modes, trading videos and more as I search in vain it seems for what is supposed to be so special about Wii Music. I have no doubt that it'll sell brilliantly, but as far as I can tell so far, this is a fluffy, pointless, borderline shovelware project from one of the greatest developers on the planet."

QFT Dear God, that video was like watching a crappy out of sync Mario Paint composer video. Just awful. Nintendo, I'm disappointed. How is this a game? How is this innovative?

Other sites such as 1up.com seem to have contadicting articles on Wii Music. It appears that IGN just can't understand this game or thinks that this is a game for the hardcore and needs to be like Guitar Hero or Rock Band. Even the below video proves this quote from their preview wrong. "And what about the violin? You'll hold the nunchuk out as if it were the violin and -- you guessed it -- waggle with the Wii remote. Amazingly, the game doesn't even really read the speed of your waggling, for if you really try to go fast with it, it'll continue to play at a medium speed. Truly disappointing." I don't see any waggling of the violin in this video, do you? br.youtube.com/watch?v=vOx3G2AAFUI&NR=1
