So let me get this straight, 2nd-rate Nintendo characters all leave their show for an island, and Nick AKA Captain Rainbow has to bring them back?
So Captain Rainbow is a 2nd-rate Captain N? Obviously his show flopped not because of unpopular characters, but because it was named "Captain Rainbow." =P

While I've been sceptical about a western release for this game at the beginning, now I'm much surer that there will be one. It's officially confirmed that the game will feature lots of obscure Nintendo characters. Do you think that a weird game series like WarioWare would make it to the west without starring a character familar to western audiences? I'm pretty unsure, but thanks to greedy Wario, it succeed. And Captain Rainbow's chances are much higher because of familar characters, too.
Some of my bets what obscure characters could be in beneath Birdo and Hikari:
Donbe (Shin Oni Ga Shima) - Imajin, Mama, Lina, Papa (Doki Doki Panic) - Bubbles (Clu Clu Land) - Ducks and Dog (Duck Hunt) - Balloon Fighter (Balloon Fight) - Donkey Kong Jr. - R.O.B. and Professor Hector (Gyromite) - Eggplant King (Kid Icarus) - a Punch-Out!! boxer - Chao and Goku (Yuu Yuu Ki) - a gunman (Wild Gunman) - Tamagon (Devil World) - Foreman Spike (Wrecking Crew) - a Koopaling (Super Mario Bros. 3)

Incredible. I love the idea for this game. Put all of the unpopular/forgotten Nintendo characters on an island and have Captain Rainbow help them with their problems. Very cool.

Let's throw in Sukapon and change "A Punch-Out!!! boxer" to Little Mac and it'd be perfect. On a side note, do they call the Eggplant Wizard the Eggplant King in Germany?

Other then Grandy's list of characters I have a feeling that Wart and/or Tatanga may show up, especially Wart.

Don't forget some characters from Game Boy games like the Solar Striker (Solar Striker), Alice (Balloon Kid/Balloon Fight GB), Muddy (Mole Mania), the Alleyway paddle ship (Alleyway) and a few others. For some characters on other consoles, don't forget Harry (Teleroboxer), F-Type (Stunt Race FX), Dion, Max and Jack (Marvelous: Another Treasure Island), unnameable boy (Time Twist), anyone of the Card Hero characters, Michael Anderson and/or his ST Falcon (Battle Clash and Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge), Sabure Prince and Prince Richard (For the Frog the Bell Tolls), DeMille (Tomato Adventure), Kururin (Kuru Kuru Kururin, Kururin Paradise and Kururin Squash!), Dr. Wright (SNES SimCity and SimCity 64), anyone from Kurikin Nano Island Story, Fighter Hayabusa (Pro Wrestling) and probably some characters from video games not released in Japan like Tin Star (Tin Star), Mr. Stevenson (Gumshoe) and Michael "Mike" Jones (StarTropics and Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II).

Haha. Gumshoe and Mike Jones won't be in it. Not a chance.

Haha. Gumshoe and Mike Jones won't be in it. Not a chance. Not even Tin Star, but Nester might appear as Lark, since Pilotwings 64 was released in Japan as well as elsewhere.

Awesome, but if Birdo's in it, I'm pretty sure their's gonna characters casuals see as "obscure". So I'll expect Waluigi, FE/AW characters,Ray 01(Or Ray MK), Isaac, etc. to make appearances in it. And ST Falcon would fit right in into a kids show.

the Alleyway paddle ship (Alleyway). How's that an obscure character? Mario was driving it!

I bet we're going to only see the characters from the FDS games like Shin Onigashima and Time Twist--the "obscure" characters that appeal to 10 year old Japanese kids, and really nobody else in the whole wide world. You guys are all getting your hopes up very high. This IS Nintendo we are talking about.

The Custom Robo series might get represented, because it's kind of unpopular. Why? I don't hear many people talking about it. All the Ray models in the Custom Robo series aren't equal at all. Ray 01 is the most well-known in North America due to Custom Robo: Battle Revolution being released in North America simply as "Custom Robo". Also, many people like this one the best, because of how dark, robotic and detailed he looks. It's like if many people never heard of Bomberman until Bomberman Act Zero, and if Act Zero was successful, then many people would of liked the Act Zero version a lot more than his original, cartoony red, white and blue look. Several of the other Ray models in Custom Robo Arena were brought back from the previous four Custom Robo games. the Alleyway paddle ship (Alleyway). How's that an obscure character? Mario was driving it! The game's quite obscure today. It's even Mario's least known appearance.

The game is obscure, but the Alleyway ship isn't a character. It's a vehicle being driven by a well-known character.

On a side note, do they call the Eggplant Wizard the Eggplant King in Germany? Nope, that was a mistake by me, sorry.
