Really, who cares? I'm starting to get sick of this stupid battle. It's a pointless thing and there is nothing about it that could so much as agitate anybody. Shadow does not deserve hate, Teev is completely right. Whether the game is fun or not is all I care about. So Shadow's not the best character in the world? So some people think he's a s hitty knock-off? I don't care! Nobody should care! Every mistake is just a step towards perfection. Let's leave it there! And I am NOT an easy person to piss off, I'll tell you that much. People seem to ignore my posts a lot lately. Especially this one.

Maybe Sega brought Shadow back because people like him. I would personality rather have a GOOD game that has Sonic's friends in it than a BAD game with just Sonic. People forget that it has ALWAYS been customary to add a new character in Sonic games. Sonic 2 added Tails. Sonic 3 added Knuckles. Sonic CD added Amy. These are the classic Sonic games. The Chaotix themselves obviously came from Knuckles' Chaotix. We've had guys like Mighty and Nack/Fang running around prior to Sonic Adventure.
Don't hate characters like Shadow and Silver, hate the crappy Sonic games they appear in. That's what I do.

Hello elito.
As TV Eye pointed out, there are some characters on the disc that are not in the game. HOWEVER, Roy and Mewtwo both share more data then the others. Both have a victory theme listed among the other characters (the idea was each character had their own theme) and Mewtwo also had a classic screen (we can't see it though).

Well, I'll admit I was highly disappointed with how this topic was treated by regular members at the start. And yes... I do feel that a lot of the members here have been acting disgracefully lately - arrogant and self-important.
And I intend to see an end to it.

fryguy64.proboards27.com/index.cgi?board=ssb&action=display&thread=2699&page=16#61233There ya go, elito! Those are links to all the cut content from Brawl. The history goes that Sakurai had the roster planned in 2005 when he was first put on as director. But as the game came along in development, he realized he had to cut a few of his ideas. By the time 2006/7 rolled around, he was left with the current roster minus Wolf and Sonic: the game included Roy and Mewtwo in their places. When Sega cleared the inclusion of Sonic, he immediately bumped one of those two for the blue 'hog and, furthermore, decided Wolf was a better inclusion. The only real evidence we have for this are the fact that he himself said Sonic was a last minute addition (while everybody else was decided in 2005) [and this is evident in Subspace Emissary], the fact that Roy and Mewtwo are included in the "Victory Theme" tracks with all the other characters minus Sonic and Wolf, and the rest of the cut characters we've seen on the disc (Dr. Mario, Plusle/Minun, Dixie Kong, and Toon Zelda/Sheik). Wolf was probably in the game to begin with. If you look at the roster, Roy and Mewtwo fit perfectly. If you take out wolf, then the whole thing is messed up. Look at the roster Flip, where did you get the info? I haven't heard of Wolf being added later (Sakurai Said Sonic was added in 2007 but not Wolf) and things like more clones and Plusle and Minun being Pichu clones.

Roy and Mewtwo fit perfectly where?
The layout of the character select screen would surely have come last - I doubt they were planning characters and went "oh shit no Geno he won't fit on the screen"

Roy and Mewtwo fit perfectly where? 1)Cut Sonic and Random 2)Move Ness and Lucas to the right 3)Insert Roy/Mewtwo

Wolf comes from him not having a victory theme. He is the only character other than Sonic to lack one. I didn't say he was added specifically with Sonic, but I don't think he was ever part of the original plan. And the Pichu = Plusle/Minun is logic. If he kept Dr. Mario, Roy, and "Young Link" as well as the other clones, then who was the missing clone that we didn't see? Pichu. And how do you make Pichu more interesting? Or, better yet, include a Ruby/Sapphire rep? Turn him into two characters: Plusle and Minun. The definition of a clone has been changed so much by this game that I don't doubt that was the case. And when I said more clones, I meant the Forbidden 7.

If he doesn't have to be in the column, then you could, say, take Wolf out, bump falcon pUUUUUUnch up, put Mewtwo there. Or something.
