Hell, not even so much as a Mario Party.
Maybe some pleasant surprises will show up on the show floor, but still... looks like I'm going to have plenty of time to catch up on old games.

Maybe they are hopping to give a better year for third parties keeping their own competition. At least that's the only explanation I can think about with all the third party talk from Reggie.

Well that was a good waste of time.
Pretty surprised about GTA for DS though.

Where's Punch-Out and F-Zero? I held off making analyses for my Smash 4 project since I thought Nintendo was going to announce new games. This is easily Nintendo's worst E3.

No, there worst was 2003 where they tried to push the "innovative and amazing" GBA to GCN by showing Pac Man VS. At least this one solved the voice chat problem.

It's odd. Nintendo has a lot of dry areas this year and into the next. I don't even think they have a game in October. I was expecting E3 to show a lot becuase Nintendo had so little. So I'm wondering when they will show their games off. The other thing is how they use E3 now. The main attractions were AC, Wii Sports Resort, and Wii Music. Basically, Nintendo is using this as marketing. Where Sony and Microsoft acted like they normally have for E3, Nintendo uses it to promote their line up to a wide audience. This is a big event so it's much better to show games like Wario Land Shake and Kirby Super Star Ultra at small events or just randomly then at E3. Despite what we say, the standard press will eat up Wii Sports Resort. The other thing is, if Nintendo is going "casual" at E3, then when are they going to show off bigger titles. Mario Kart and AC are both franchises that are bridge games. They sell to hardcore and casual gamers. So when are they going to announce the games like Metroid and Zelda that don't have such a wide appeal? Will they just decide to throw them out there a few months before release or will they save all of those games for their own press conference? I guess I expected to much. It seemed like Nintendo should have more for how dry this year is for them. We have Mario Kart, Wii Fit and Brawl so how are they planning to follow it up? Or perhaps this is part of their strategy. Maybe they will take their own advice and release these games throughout the year, rather then on the holiday seasons. I still want my Punch Out

Even if they do have a 'dry spell' of games that old fans care about, the fact of the matter is....
It doesn't hurt them one bit. They'll do just as well with their Wii Sports and Wii Music as they would with or without another F-Zero or Star Fox. And perhaps that's the most frustrating bit of all.

But not even a mention of Super Sluggers or WL Shake It? I'm all into the minigames craze but we the hardcore need something to remind us that they still consider our point of view. They just said that there is something for everyone, and what about us? A quick footage of more complex games would have been enough.

Wow, a crapton of games I couldn't give a crap about. Brilliant.
Animal Crossing looks like the N64 game it started as... and just as "thrilling"... by which I mean about as thrilling as doing chores. And Wii Sports Resort and Wii Music do not appeal to me at all.
Oh well, back to Smash Bros. for another year. With a bit of Wario Land in the middle...

I dunno, Wii Sports Resort looks very impressive to me, and I'm positively drooling at the possibilities for the Motion Plus!

Bravo, Nintendo. You topped 2003! At least then nobody cared--now you had all the eyes on you, and you let Microsoft stamp you to the floor.
If anybody's bored the fanboys on Gamefaqs are an amusing read. They're trying to find good deals for selling off their Wiis and buying 360s. No shit.
On another note, remember how Reggie was all like "lol hardcore"? He meant Animal Crossing. He came out and said it after the fact.

Christ, how did I not notice that?
I'd still sell it though.
