Yeah... 'cause everyone knows Zelda invented werewolves. It's fact!  It's not the concept of werewolves in general, it's that Sonic the Werewolf comes in on the heels of two fantastic games wherein you control wolf characters. Watch - Unleashed! will also feature some imp-like creature that rides on Sonic's back every time he transforms. Coming from Sonic Team, such lack of originality is hardly new.  Next, in the Sonic the Hedgehog universe: Sonic tries to become a successful rapper and stars in his own rhythm game, featuring stylish paper-cut-out graphics, while combating hordes of themed robots that have been hijacked by Robotnik and programmed to do evil. Sonic will also start weilding a seven-foot sword that looks like a kitchen knife, and the XBox 360 version will have only five Achievements that can be obtained easily within the first two minutes of gameplay via button mashing. Plus, Rouge becomes infected with a virus that turns her into a zombie and can only be passed on through her vampiric bites ot other characters, while Tails discovers he's the last heir to a family of vampire-slayers and sets out with his new whip to set things right! Just had to through this in there. |

And come on Sonic Team. Naka really was the one thing holding you together, huh? Smash gives you another chance with some ex-fans (like me!) and you blow it. There's NEVER a new Sonic game that's just what fans want. They gotta throw werewolfs or swords or fudging lack of control into the game.

Sonic goes Fire Emblem? Also Shadow being the dark knight would be so bad that it would be funny.
Anyway that's 3 Sonic games being worked on right now, right? Hope the quality isn't garbage because they're crankin' out one Sonic game after another.

Well, Sonic Team Japan is doing Unleashed, BioWare is doing Chronicles, and this is likely either Sonic Team USA or UGA's work. So they shouldn't have any effect on each other. That's because all Sonic fans want is a Sonic 3 & Knuckles remake. Over and over again. Sonic fans are afraid of new things. Though I'm pretty wary of this sword thing myself, I don't think that Sonic Team should quit trying out new gimmicks. Mario does it. And where would gaming be if he didn't? This stuff keeps a series fresh. |

Uh... what happens? Usually the new things are just about the only part of the game that's done right.
Look at Sonic '06... that's the only one that didn't try anything new, and it's the worst in the series by far.

I'm pretty sure Sonic 06 is disliked because it's a buggy piece of shit, has a loading screen every 20 seconds and has a bit of a Sonic X Human thing going on.

This game looks to me like a follow-up to Sonic and the Secret Rings, this time set in King Arthur.
Sonic fans have been divided on everything since they decided to give him a different continuity for each country at the start. We're at a point where one man's perfect Sonic game is another man's Superman 64.
Sonic Unleashed looks to me like the best 3D Sonic in years. So far it exhibits none of the flaws that Heroes, Shadow, Rush, Rivals, Secret Rings, or Sonic '06 did, and that Werehog thing looks like a spiritual revival of Streets of Rage, Altered Beast and Ristar all in one.
I have a feeling that this Black Knight game will end up being the least liked of the currently known new Sonic games, given what Ijust said about Unleashed and everything we know about Chronicles so far.
