This game looks to me like a follow-up to Sonic and the Secret Rings, this time set in King Arthur. Sonic fans have been divided on everything since they decided to give him a different continuity for each country at the start. We're at a point where one man's perfect Sonic game is another man's Superman 64. Sonic Unleashed looks to me like the best 3D Sonic in years. So far it exhibits none of the flaws that Heroes, Shadow, Rush, Rivals, Secret Rings, or Sonic '06 did, and that Werehog thing looks like a spiritual revival of Streets of Rage, Altered Beast and Ristar all in one. I have a feeling that this Black Knight game will end up being the least liked of the currently known new Sonic games, given what Ijust said about Unleashed and everything we know about Chronicles so far. I suppose I agree except for Sonic Rush and Secret Rings which I thought were good.

The Sonic Cycle doesn't apply. This game looks like it's going to be crap so we are in uncharted territory now.

Sonic should have saved SEGA.One thing I wish that SEGA would bring back are some of their underrated series of games, like Clockwork Knight, Alex Kidd, Comix Zone, Vectorman (without that lame, Master Chief-like style), Ristar, Greendog, Zaxxon and several others.

There were some people who though super fast hack and slash could be fun.' My stance on this game and all other Sonic games is I'll wait and see what people think.

Heh. To me, the Sonic Cycle doesn't apply anyway. I like Sonic's friends, and the gameplay hasn't yet been the same old (isn't this what the fans want anyway?).
The only game that's really, truly disappointed me was Sonic '06. Though I have my frustrations with Shadow and Secret Rings, they weren't as much of a chore to get through. I was happy with everything outside of those three so far.

Sega sucks. No denying it.
Everytime I get my hopes up, the game ends up sucking. 2 Wii games come to mind. Sonic and the Secret Rings... and an even bigger dissapointment... NiGHTS.
Nintendo gave the Sonic series an opportunity by putting Sonic in a quality game.... making fans young and old like him again. Something tells me they're going to completely blow it with these new games.

Though if Sonic is going to get a sword, he really should get something like a rapier or something. It makes more sense for him to have a small light sword that wouldn't impede his natural speed. It looks just silly to see his wiry little hand holding up a two-handed sword which he will no doubt swing around like it's a small sword.

Look at Sonic '06... that's the only one that didn't try anything new, and it's the worst in the series by far. I actually gave up on the sires after heros.

Have you forgotten how excellent Rush was? I haven't played a console Sonic game since Adventure 2, but I bought Rush and thought "SEGA's finally figured it out!" They really didn't try anything new with Rush, they brought back classic side scrolling Sonic with the opportunity to go even faster. Hell, I'd say it's one of the best DS games as well.

Sega didn't make Rush. Dimps did, and Sonic Rush was only marginally better than Sonic Advance 2, at least to me.
I liked Sonic Rush Adventure better than Sonic Rush 1, though.

Notice after Naka left no game made by Sonic Team or Sega America is ever good. It's another company's doing. (Except Battle I think. If it's another company point proven.)

I think you guys are being too critical of Sonic. First of all, I don't think most people (especially Sonic fans) have a problem with Sonic's friends. It's just the newest ones that have sucked.
Nextly Secret Rings got decent reviews and sold well. I don't think it sucked. Certainly not that good of a Sonic game but not even close to the level of Sonic 06.

Well the game its official a secuel to Secret rings as part of the “Storybook series“. I liked Secret rings so I´m up to it, i just hope they can give me the following: 1.- Been able to stop, turn 360o and return, 2.-Change the jumping mechanic from Hold and release button to jump to, press button t jump. 3.-Justify the sword with some GOOD gameplay 4.- Make the new characters cool as Shahara and not dull as Silver/human princess from Sonic 06. 5.-Keep the storybook like cinemas.

Well, everyone wants them to die after Amy (she's tolerable). People I think want just Sonic, or even Sonic and the other three (Tails, Knuckles and Amy). I agree actually (and I made an ass out of my self for it). I do think the idea was great, but it suffered from it's lack of polish. If done right, it would be awesome. But since then I've taken the "wait and see" approach.
