Well I've been crying tears of joy for about an hour after hearing this. XD
Anyway, Punch Out Wii has been confirmed, so let the speculation begin!
I'm hoping that controls are better than Wii Boxing slightly broken controls, and stays true to the original Punch Out formula. I'm also hoping that Doc says "Join Club Nintendo today!" Since Club Nintendo is finally in the US.
How about y'all?

From the looks of it, it's more of a remake of the NES Punch-Out!! game than a whole new game in its own right.
I like they're sticking with the racism though - it's key to the series! Glass Joe spilling croissants when knocked down is just hilarious!
I hope there's a load of secret characters - bring on Captain Falcon ;D

Definitely, definitely. I don't like Mac's new look much, but it's probably not very close to being done anyways. We'll see. I dig the remix they use in the trailer, though.
Also, think this will use the 1:1 Wiimote?

I like the graphics, looks like the DBZ Budokai games.

The style's like an American cartoon or comic book, fitting to the style. And the stereotypes are as blatant as ever, excellent. I love how Little Mac's design is like the Brawl one. And this looks like good Punch-Out!! fun.
I cannot wait, though Sin&Punishment 2 is the game that has me head over heels at this event.

I like how King Hippo has pineapples circling his head instead of the usual birds.
And the music owns.

I like Punch Out, but unless its going to be on WiiWare for cheap, I want something with more substance than a flat out remake of a NES game. But that's all this looks like at the moment. Probably do not want, at the moment.

Ugh... watched the trailer again, and I STILL cannot stand Little Mac's face. It's just so... ugly. He needs to be more like Brawl look: mean as hell.
God bless Sakurai. He fucked up mighty bad with a lot of things in Brawl, but little did we foresee the effects his choices would have on the future of Nintendo. Mac, Saki, and Takamaru in SSB4 for the WIN!

The Brawl look had an influence, it really seems, just now he's got a more cartoony style. It fits with the game. It's cool.

At least they didn't use Captain Rainbow's design...

Also, think this will use the 1:1 Wiimote? Eh, it's not too bad. I just mind that he looks a little too dark. Otherwise, it's ok. EDIT:The facial expressions are the characters are great!

A little too dark? Are you suggesting that his tanned skin is somehow ruining the character? RACIST ALERT! BURN THE RACIST!!! ;D Seriously though, in the Punch-Out!! standalone trailer, he looks great. He's a bright-eyed youngster from New York. I look at him and I can see that character well-portrayed. He looks like every attempt to draw him I've ever done.
