Man-Frog is 100% right on TMNT, Parrot. Eastman and Lairx created it as a parody of Frank Miller's Daredevil. The Turtles were DD, the Hand was the ninja cult the Hand and Splinter was DD's sensei Stick. Furhtermore, Shredder was Gladiator, a forgotten DD villain. Shredder was viloently killed in issue one when the turtles dropped a dump truck on him.
And you dead wrong about comics being uppopular. At one point, Uncanny X-Men (Chris Claremont, John Byrne) and New Teen Titans (Marv Wolfman, George Perez) were moving hundred of thousands of units, which was astounding for then. This was before the rise of specialty shops and direct market so you could pick up the latest issue of the Titans epic at the local news stand or market. And yes, kids were a big part of the market.

Eh, it's not too bad. I just mind that he looks a little too dark. Otherwise, it's ok. EDIT:The facial expressions are the characters are great! Actually, it might be misinterperated if it is a white guy beating up on ethnic stereotypes like Piston Honda, Great Tiger, King Hippo, and Bob Charlie. Thusly, they made Little Mac Latino to stave off possible accusation of racism. That's a good point actually. But, to me, he looks liek a white guy with a tan then latino. Also, that's pretty cool Next Level is doing this. A game like this is right up their ally.

Why are you people so sure that Next Level is doing this? It's just rumouring, because unlike the rest of games announced it doesnt mention the third party developer who is doing it.

Because it has already been confirmed (by sites such as IGN) and it was even rumored around E3 as well. Interesting to note, if Super Mario Strikers Charged was their last game they released (in mid 2007), then it means they may have started working on Punch Out Wii last year. Good to know that this game should have a nice long development cycle. Also since it was made by the same group who released one of the first Wii games with online, it could be a good sign that this title could be online as well.

I'm calling it now: this is a pseudo-remake of the NES game, but throws in SNES enemies and powers. There will be online rankings, online matches, and Mario Kart Wii style tournaments. To add further fuel to my idea fire, I bet they'll let us use the other boxers as playable characters. If not, then we can at least create our own "Macs" or use our Miis for multiplayer. I definitely can see a "create a boxer" mode somewhere in this game.

Well the remix reminds me of Megaman X near the end, and what about all the Stolen bike jokes?

Internet meme. You know that password screen with Little Mac in his jogging suit running after Doc Louis on a bike? Yeah.

It's the same story and uses old enemies, but will not be exactly the same.

Punch Out is really coming out for the Wii? Wow! This is news for me. I guess Little Mac's appearances in Brawl and Captain Rainbow helped Nintendo see the light that fans really do want a new Punch Out game. Maybe Little Mac will be playable in SSB4 if SSB4 is announced for the next console after Wii.

I don't remember the Ice Climbers appearance in Melee, sparking off rumours of a new IC game, though. I'm sure Punch Out!!'s revival is probably due to people wanting to revive the franchise because of them wanting a 'proper' boxing game after experiencing Wii Boxing. Besides, I thought that a Punch Out!! game would be in the pipeline as soon as I heard about the Wii's motion-sensitive control system anyway.

I don't remember the Ice Climbers appearance in Melee, sparking off rumours of a new IC game, though. LOL probably because Ice Climber wasn't popular back in the 80's so there was no demand for a new game since then... unlike Metroid, Kid Icarus, and Punch-Out.

Punch Out makes a good match with the Wii current demographic its cartoony, its a sport and plays arcade like so a new game in the series makes a good choice (Now Kid icarus its a diferent matter, dont expect a new Kid Icarus game soon)
