Dream Smash Music: Classic Stages

OK, so there's been a few topics already about the music you wish had been in Brawl. This topic's going to go a bit more specific.

In the theoretical fourth "Dream" Smash Bros. game that my recent topics have been about, let's assume that all Smash Bros. stages from previous games are included (with updated graphics, of course!) One complaint levelled at Brawl was that the My Music options for the Melee stages was unnecessarily tiny - usually just the original music and music from one stage that didn't make the cut.

So, in SSBD (catchy, huh?) all classic stages are included. What music do you think could be added to each stage's music playlist?

The Rules:
1. Pick as many stages from the list below as you want.
2. You can choose songs that have already been in a Smash Bros. game, but try and be original if you can.
3. The songs must fit the theme of the stage.
4. If you can find links to the music you have in mind, post it.
5. Try and explain why you think the music would be great (optional)

What? 64 and GC stages ONLY? Not Brawl stages?

My ideal Smash would: (1) allow custom music from SD cards and (2) allow picking music from other stages - the development team did not do the job well, say, Frozen Hillside for Halberd!?

And didn't the SMB1 stage in melee allow the Dr Mario music as well?
And for the GC Fountain of Dreams stage, it would be better to describe the music as it is from Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland.

I second the "music from SD cards" comment. I seriously thought that would be an option for Brawl, if not at least Mario Kart. Anyways, I'll come back and throw my suggestions into the ring later.

N64 - Mushroom Kingdom: Princess Peach's Castle

• Coin Haven (Super Mario Bros. 3). It's reminiscent of times when you walk by stages in the sky. This stage is also in the sky.

N64 - Mushroom Kingdom Classic

• Sub-Space (Super Mario Bros. 2: Mario's Madness)
  
• Special (Super Mario World)
  
• Ground Theme (Super Mario All-Stars). It would have a piece of the "hurry up" version of the song for timed matches.
  
• Secret Area (Super Mario Sunshine)

Basically, existing remixes of the Ground Theme in platformers. I omit SMB3's because it sounds too hypnotizing, and SMG's because it sounds too toy-like.


GCN - Mushroom Kingdom: Princess Peach's Castle

• Princess Peach's Castle. This plays inside the castle, but it's still Princess Peach's Castle.
  
• Bob-omb Battlefield. A standard melody for ground-based stages in SM64.

GCN - Mushroom Kingdom: Rainbow Ride

• Slide. This was a fun tune in its original form that keeps things crazy. It should be an addition to the existing arrangement.

GCN - Mushroom Kingdom I

• Ground Theme (Super Mario World). The place looks like a standard, non-dangerous stage from Super Mario World. It should get this song. For timed matches, it needs its own "hurry up" version.

GCN - DK Island: Jungle Japes

• Jungle Japes (Donkey Kong 64). The figure of Cranky Kong makes the stage feel like DK64's Jungle Japes.

N64 - Hyrule: Hyrule Castle

• Hyrule Field (Ocarina of Time). That landscape in the background is as beautiful as this song. An instant alternate song I'd think about even in the N64 days.
  
• Title (The Legend of Zelda). Since it's a generic Zelda stage (not visibly from a particular game of the series), this could work here.
  
• Title (Zelda II). Same reasoning than for the previous song.
  
• Field (Link's Awakening). This version of the song belongs to the portable Zelda games of Game Boy, and it's equally nice. I'm sure many of us loved its presence in Brawl, but its rhythm was too fast.

GCN - Termina: Great Bay

• Great Bay theme. Before Link defeats the boss of Great Bay Temple, this is the song that plays at the Great Bay. It makes this place feel darker!
  
• Termina Field. This sounds almost everywhere in Termina after you have defeated the boss of the nearest Temple.

GCN - Hyrule: Temple

• Battle (Zelda II). Since characters are having a battle here, I think this is an adequate song.

GCN - Planet Zebes: Brinstar Dephts

• Norfair. I'd use it because this song has an atmosphere similar to that of Kraid's Lair theme.

N64 - Popstar: Green Greens

• Green Greens. For this stage, I'd rather have a version that resembles the original tune more closely instead of the one we heard in Melee.

GCN - Lylat System: Corneria

• Corneria. It's not so much of a sci-fi song, but it's memorable because Corneria was also the first stage in Star Fox for the SNES.

GCN - Lylat System: Venom

• Star Wolf. I'd use this one here because it makes one remember hostile environments, and Venom is also one.

N64 - Kanto: Saffron City

• Team Rocket Hideout. An important part of the plot happens below Silph Co.'s rooftop. It was Team Rocket invading the whole building, and as such, this song is fine here.
  
• Team Rocket Theme (Gold/Silver). This song plays when a Team Rocket Grunt finds you or when Goldenrod Radio Tower has been taken over by Team Rocket.
  
• Trainer Battle. This song would be good here because a battle is being held on the rooftop.

GCN - Kanto: Pokémon Stadium

• Rival (Red / Blue). Another song that would sound nice for exciting battles that take place in a Stadium.
  
• Card Battle (Pokémon TCG). It needs to be a faster version of the song, but I'd consider including it here because the Trading Card Game also uses Pokémon types (in the form of Energies) and this stage represents Pokémon types more than it does Pokémon.

GCN - Eagleland: Onett

• Onett. The place is too tranquil for the Melee version of Bein' Friends. Onett's theme belongs to this setting in name and mood (the fast vehicles are the only things out of place).

GCN - Eagleland: Fourside

• Moonside. Sometimes I wonder why the Fourside stage is set to nighttime; it would make sense if it's explicitly said that it's from Moonside, the psychedelic counterpart of Fourside.
  
• Fourside Sewers. Some tunnels and caves in EarthBound share this song. The one below Fourside also has it, and it's good for dark and urban settings.

By the way, when this is done I will create "Dream Smash" videos, where the music you've chosen will be played over the stage in question. We can then see if they work or not

Agree on the Koopa Road idea. And the Bob-omb Battlefield would be better played on an actual SM64 stage than Isle Delfino as in Brawl.

I need some time to diggest this huuuuge topic, but I need to say:

N64 - Yoshi's Island: Yoshi's Story
-Needs Yoshis Safari medley (jewerly land) complete with Boss music from said game when the time its ending.
Yoshi Safari had some great songs, I think this level fits better to the feel of that game (while you still are on jewerly land)

GCN - DK Island: Jungle Japes
-Melon kingdom-Banshee swamp, Nuff said (the most swampy stage in Melee/Smash, I think this creepy music from Jungle Beat fits (also its a great theme)

GCN - Eagleland: Onett
-Saturn Valley-(a mix from MOTHER 2 and 3 with a little bit of the Lying monkey cave from MOTHER) Another recurring music from MOTHER series, unless there is a Saturn Village stage in the next game, I feel it fits Onett.
-New age retro hippie battle music. Kickass music could almost fit on any EB level, but I think fits better in Onett (besides its Frank Battle music, the shark gang leader)

- Paper Mario 2 - It's Battle Time!: Yeah this one fits in almost all Mario stages, but I think it fits best in this one because it can be quite chaotic.

- DKC3 - Stilt Village: You know, 'cause the stage is on stilts.
- DKC2 - Cranky's Conga

- Legend of Zelda OoT - Zora's Domain: The stage is close by Zora's Domain. Plus it's watery.

- Yoshi/Mario&Yoshi Theme

- Kirby's Dreamland 3 - Grass Land Theme 1

- Simcity - Megalopolis: Only upbeat SNES Simcity BGM. It even has segments of the small town theme. An arranged version could throw in that bloody disaster tune too.

GCN - Infinite Glacier: Icicle Mountain
- Devil World, Urban Champion, Cluclu Land, Ice Climbers Medley: The Brawl IC stage has plenty of music from other retro games, so why not give this one a medley?

GCN - Superflat World: Flat Zone
- Gameboy Gallery - Fire: As much as I like those original G&W smash tunes, how about some music from the G&W compilations? Those need to be represented too.
- Gameboy Gallery - Manhole


Also since I'm talking about music anyway, it would be awesome if the original Fire Spit music would play when someone eats Spicy Curry.

I just uploaded all tunes here so you won't be wasting any time finding them. Comes with some arranged versions for the hell of it.

It would be to much!! (even if I want “Count Canolli theme“ somewhere www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nrC-9F6-tQ&feature=related one of the few good things about WMoD, and it doesn´t fit any of Melee and Smash64 stages) maybe you should ad Battlefield and Final Destination “Figthing Poligon Team“ www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJ8ypITij-g and “Metal Mario 64“ www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhaFtROR28E must have a place to be heard.
