I've tried to think of how Phoenix or any of his fellow characters could tie into a fighting game, and it's VERY difficult. Franziska would work better than most due to her whip, but beyond that, what else could she do? What would her normal attacks be? She doesn't kick or punch in the game...I've had a recent thought of her summoning Gumshoe via Jill Valentine, but eh. I'd rather see Strider or Ammy. The only strong possibility I can think of for the Ace Attorney series is the Steel Samurai, but he's kind of...boring, really. I don't have a strong connection to that character.

It's just like trying to add Famicom Tantei Club characters to the SSB series and Jake Hunter as the next final boss in the Fighter's History series.

I imagine it'd be like how Roll fights with a broom. Which was an in-joke. Give Phoenix joke items or Magatama powers.
But really, it's just a lame excuse to not use him or try using him to say you CAN'T BREAK "OBJECTION!" into four parts or make the text smaller. JHC.

According to GoNintendo, the new characters for TvC will be revealed at Tokyo Game Show (which will be running from September 24 thru 27). The article also states that there will be four new characters, two for Capcom and two for Tatsunoko. That doesn't sound like it'll balance out the roster if there's still a character missing from the Tatsunoko side, but there's still a chance that this news is not completely accurate.

Yeah, I've heard Niitsuma say 3 - 4, but that doesn't make sense. When you remove a character, you can't put an even number in to fix it. XD Cool news, though. I'll be keeping an eye on it.

According to GoNintendo, Teknoman has been confirmed as one of the new characters in the North American version of TvC. Apparently, this version of the game will also be released in Japan.

Well he looks pretty cool. Here's hoping that he's not a clone of Tekkaman.

I'm not an expert, but according to Wikipedia, he's apparently from a 1992 reboot of Tekkaman called Tekkaman Blade, or "Teknoman" in North America.

In a guilty declaration, I'd rather see who's new on the Capcom side. XD Still though, it's nice to know one of the new folks. ^_^

Rumor alert: It would seem that Capcom made a little mistake when they last updated the Japanese TvC character website - some image references in the source code point out these names: zero (Mega Man X's Zero, anyone?) frank (Dead Rising's Frank West is the likely candidate) joe (Condor Joe from Gatchaman, more than likely) yatter02 (Yatterman #2, ready to back up her ally)
These bits of code have since been removed. Until Capcom confirms this, I'll be holding my breath, but these guesses are probably correct. *sigh* Would have LOVED to see Ammy and Strider sneak in.

The official North American site for TvC is now online. It's got (some) character profiles, and you can choose to theme the site after either Tatsunoko or Capcom.

Guess this sort of kills the need for Capcom's bloggers to continue their descriptions. Ah well. I'll go check it out.

Ahahahahaha that's awesome.
Chances are the whole code thing Wildcat posted about is true then. Too bad, I'd rather have another 'main character' such as Strider aswell. But hey, we got Frank West with a goofy moveset so I'm all set.

Frank West is AWESOME. God, he has one of the kookiest movesets I've seen in a fighter. And I love it. He's like Shoma from Rival Schools, Jill Valentine in MVC2 and Mega Man all thrown together with some of his own unique twists. And that Servbot Head Lv. 3 super is one of the best I've ever seen. Excellent work, Capcom. ^_^ Tekkaman Blade is also in motion in another trailer, viewable here. And then there's the general TGS trailer, too.
