Y'know what else would've been awesome? A game that was visible. Pre-rendered sprites on a GB Classic screen = severe eyestrain. What were you thinking, Rare!? The game was kinda heavily promoted for use with the Super Game Boy adapter...

The game was kinda heavily promoted for use with the Super Game Boy adapter... That's how I primarily played it. (In fact, I never had a proper Game Boy until I got a Color.) And I was also, like, 11. I really don't think "STFU" is a huge attack, btw. I'll try to replace it with "shut the hobo up" when I remember, or else when there's a loud vagrant around. Also, not British.

I'm actually more offended that someone actually thought DKL was awesome enough to tell someone to STFU, rather than me being the object of scorn.
DKL2 and 3 weren't too bad - the backgrounds were less busy and they made the enemies bigger... but DKL was virtually unplayable at times. Slippa was a pain in the ass on the SNES! And now he's totally camouflaged against the background as well? Madness I tell you!
I did quite like the fact they created all new stages for it though. The city was cool. But it doesn't excuse the bad graphical choices.

Personally I thought it looked OK, apart from when on the mountain/cliff side stages. Gameplay wise, I thought that DKL was better than DKL2 (since that game was practically the same as DKC2, but with fewer colours), but way inferior to DKL3. Plus, it had Hogwash, the flying pig.

CURSE YOU NEW LEVELS!! Do I need ot buy this game again? I love it but somehow I feel its not going to be the same without the bongoes (Nintendo you should better work on a sequel than a “ennaheced port“)

Woah, so there's new content? This might actually be worth it since I held off on getting Pikmin 2. And if Mario Power Tennis Wii adds Toad and Toadette...
No. No. NOOO! Nintendo, damn you!!! We are such fucking fanboys. We were complaining about all this shit for a while now, and the second they pull a "but look! a nice retro cameo!" we got all gaga and cream ourselves. Oy... We are very, very sick people.

Indeed it seems the impossible task of adding DKC references IS possible, AND considered! Let's hope for the best.

Yeah, because this totally undoes everything I have said and nothing at all that you have said. I didn't say DKC references being included was impossible, I said it was unnecessary. And this screenshot has done nothing to change my mind on that matter. In fact... why isn't is just a Party Monkey instead? It does, however, finally close the gap between this game in the DKC series, so hopefully you obsessive motherfuckers will shut up about it "not being a real DK game".

Don't get all pissy Fryguy, I wasn't referring to you nor did I even mention you in my post. I believe it was someone else who said it was impossible because of size issues or something. I wasn't even thinking about you that time. Don't jump to conclusions! And where are you getting the idea that some people think Jungle Beat "is not a real DK game"? No one has ever said that. Ever. Everyone knows its a real DK game, its just that some people didn't like how it was handled. Saying that make you a liar. But as far as the "obsessive motherfuckers" go, they still don't accept anything over at DKVine. Despite my support for this game's efforts to include these classic items, its still not good enough for some. I'm happy atleast. I've always enjoyed the original Jungle Beat and now it has classic DK refferences! I'm very happy.

Hmm, on this page of that site there's a picture of DK:JB with a normal looking Wii cover next to the god awful new one. Can someone translate the text next to it?
