That manual actually said that? That sounds like a strange way to plan it out on the Kremlings' part.

To be fair, keeping a stockpile of bananas in a cave is bad planning on DK's part. Imagine a few days after returning all his bananas to his cave... that he comes back and finds them all black and rotten.

My guess is that he was gonna turn them into gold at the Kremkroc factory like it said in the German edition of the instruction manual, or that his intention was something more along the lines of ransom or trying to starve the Kongs. I always just assumed it was because he was a dick. And I still don't think he needs any other reason. XD

Maybe he acts like a dick to the Kongs out of sheer jealousy? I mean, look at Kong Isle, then look at Krocodile Isle. What's not to be jealous of? Maybe he thinks the island is rightfully his since the ruins have Kremling architecture on them. Somebody asked about this at Rare's Scribes page and Mr. Loveday jokingly said that the Kremlings lost the island to the Kongs over a game of poker.

I think it's pretty obvious the Kremlings used to own DK Island, so I can sorta see why they always want to cause trouble.

Yeah... pretty obvious. That's why only the temple levels appear to have Kremling statues and a large part of the island is a giant DK head carved into a mountain.

Of course the island belonged to the Kremlings, but the Kongs once enslaved the crocodiles and let them sculpture that DK head. No wonder that the Kremlings are mad at those narcistic apes, didn't you know that? ;D

Donkey Kong Island belongs to the...Kremlings?
Maybe if it was called Kremling Island, but c'mon.

Used to, it had all those kremling structures. And they even hold an industrial part of it.

I guess they just installed that factory there upon taking over? Man, most of us Nintendo fans do try way too hard to be complete know-it-alls of everything by Nintendo, even for games we've never played (if you thought parrothead was a lot more overboard about it, pshhht). It's like knowing about all Pokemon by heart without having to go through a list of them for reference.

Yeah, me too. But I was mostly joking on that part.
Seriously guys. Man-Frog can say that Kremling's make bananas into gold, but when I say something you all start doing jumping jacks!

Man-Frog just told us that's what the German instruction book said. You were suggesting something that really doesn't have a lot of proof behind it except for a joking Scribes quote. There's a difference there.
