Just to think of it, there are just sooooo many Internet memes out there. I'm tying to list here and, my question here is, I would like to see this list "completed" (yeah I know it will never be really completed) with those I do not know of.
YT-related:
YouTube Poops - there're now an infinite amount of them Rickroll Mama Luigi (does that count?)
4chan: (Don't really like this site)
Weegee Motivational Posters - is this from 4chan?
Others:
So I herd u liek Mudkipz - From dA or something; not really Internet-wide I think... All Your Base Are Belong To Us - pretty old meme Do a Barrel Roll - (insert other SF64 quotes here) Can't let you do that - same as above The cake is a lie I fight for my friends - the other two Ike quotes don't seem to be as popular. Falcon Punch Over 9000 - not sure which site did this start from. "I can has --- ?" FAIL
(will add more as I think of more of these; I exclude any Japanese or any other non-English meme here)
In overall, I personally like the Barrel Roll and FAIL ones. The others are just too over-used to be of any fun.

I kinda felt memes came hand in hand with spamming, trolling, and perhaps worse... raiding.
I NEVER had good experience when it came to this stuff. It's only meant trouble for me and the things I loved.
There's a group out there... A horrible group of people who cause all sorts of trouble on the internet.
They take trolling to a whole new level. Sometimes terrorizing people beyond the internet. Even in real life...
I somehow feel that some of the memes are connected to them. Maybe I'm just paranoid... But some people will do anything for lulz.

The definition of a "meme" is a piece of information that is passed on from one person to the next, with slight changes over time. Richard Dawkins, who coined the term, used it as analogous to the gene, which is passed from generation to generation with occasional variations due to the imperfect nature of reproduction.
And, like a gene, a successful piece of information will continue to be passed down through the ages, while an unsuccessful piece of information will simply die out in the face of all the other information.
Even the oldest of internet memes, when compared to the vast quantity of information out there, is sparkling and new. The reason they perpetuate is because people want to pass them on, and other people want to receive them. But they are a product of their age, and I imagine most of them will die out relatively quickly... if they're not already.
Spamming and trolling are very different. They are selfish acts, designed to make the individual feel superior. Internet memes require active acceptance in order to be passed on... and most likely get started because someone, somewhere, thought it was funny, and wanted to share it with the world.

Ah, the wise man speaks again. I guess I messed up something then... Internet meme ≠ Spam contents containing Internet meme. Memes rock. Anyone who hates memes are insecure about their sexuality. SHOW ME YOUR MOVES! I'm basically supportive to some meme and dislike others. Like most jokes, they are not funny - even becoming annoying - when repeated hundreds of thousnads of times. I don't know what my exact sexuality is, but most probably I'm not Teevsexual. And you should be glad about that. =P (and sorry if my immature joke offends you.)

Not true, memes and spam can be one the same. Usually a person will spam a topic using memes. It's happened many times. There'll be an intelligent topic going on, and then someone will start throwing about a bunch of memes like Rickrolls and such. Also, some memes originated from trolling. Remember "an hero" ? I can remember many memes that were used to make fun of someone, or were created as a result of someone being trolled. The point is they may not be the same, but they can come hand in hand. A large portion of them originate from some of the most notorious people on the internet. That's the most horrible fact of all. I don't want to enjoy something that those people take pride in.
