I'm 23 and most of my favourite Pokémon are from Generation 3 and 4.

A lot of the newer Pokémon have more imaginative designs in my opinion. The older ones are primarily just slight modifications on designs that already existed elsewhere (or not even modifications - I'm looking at you, Meowth and Diglett).

Having said that, there aren't really any Pokémon designs I haven't liked, and I don't think any of them are really overdetailed. I know people always complain that Generation 3 Pokémon have too many markings, but Hoenn is a tropical climate. And real-life tropical animals have crazy markings. So I figured that was the point.

nocturnal YL: Aiyoku no Eustia is quite something. I thought I've somewhat hardened myself having gone through dark stories like Fire Emblem (Jugdral, Hoshido/Nohr, Fódlan) and Surge Concerto, but I'm still stunned. (Still doesn't beat real life, though.) Nov 10, 2024 15:17:23 GMT -5
