This just may be the most controversial topic yet. But I'm always one to start 'em eh? Well you know how there are certain thing you believe in that no one else does? Or time when in a discussion you feel your against mostly everyone. We've all been there. Arguing ourselves into a corner. Make a list of topics, ideas, and opinions that you feel no one else seems to agree with you on. It can be anything, politics, videogames... The point in this is to not only let of some steam but to see if if there's anyone out there who you can actually relate to! So that's RULE #1. No arguing. If you see something you can relate to then comment. Otherwise don't... Although I fear we may not contain the beast of hate for long. That would be RULE #2. Don't post anything TOO controversial. If you do, there's bound to be trouble, make sure its something mellow. No religion PLEASE! No hard feelings in advanced. Take it easy, and here we go! ------------------------------------------------- Here's mine. Wii is Good: There seems to be a bad rep over the Wii lately. With claims that it is a crap system that only has casual garbage and its a sin for "true" gamers to even consider playing! Okay I'm exaggerating but I'm sure we've all been there as Nintendo fans. I've been ridiculed on the net because of my defense. I won't have to feel to bad saying this around here. ;D Obama the Celebrity: I have nothing against the guy, but I felt he was WAY too popular during the election. People were praising him like he was a god! I have no problem with liking the guy you wanna vote for but it was too much. I mean they sold posters of him in a swimsuit. The guy felt more like a movie star than a President to me. I often say this and people wanna kill me! Oh well... What can I do? Story in Mario Games: Ah remember this one! I always felt Mario deserved better in the story department. And I know I'm against the world on this one when even his creator hates the idea. I can't believe you have to be sneaky in order to get as much as we have ALREADY! I'm not asking for much. Just what we get in the RPG games. Nicholson is Better: I can't help it. Jack Nicholson is a better Joker than Heath Ledger in my opinion. Ledger's performance was wonderful no doubt, he got the insane part down but he didn't do anything that lived up to the name Joker besides the clown face and cards. Besides the famous Pencil Trick Ledger performed zero deadly comical acts. Nicholson combined both deadly insane with clownish gimmicks.

All organised religions are old fairy tales. Your soul is made up of electrical impulses coursing through brain meat. When you die, you are just dead. There are no ghosts or spirits that exist without a body. We share a common ancestor with monkeys (and all other life on Earth at some point in our lineage). Science is simply the collation of empirical evidence in order to explain something. It is not sinister or evil or misguided or biased... it is just looking at something, asking "Why?" and then actually finding out why, rather than making up a story (note: scientists themselves can be biased, but then you argue that what they're doing isn't actually science, but PR). Penis's are funnier than vagina's. That's all I have to say. And finally something I think that everybody can agree with. Teev loves the menitals!

Funny, but my wife and I pretty much agree with those. Two gaming subjects ought to be enough for now: Sonic the Hedgehog and the DK universe. I'll think of more later.

No, I just didn't read all of your rules because your first post was waaaay too long. If I was making fun of it, I would have said things like "Fryguy is the greatest!"
I also don't really care whether other people agree with me or not. If my views upset someone, that's their problem.
But if you want to stick to gaming really, then "Tingle is the best videogame character ever conceived" is pretty high on my list ;D

Okay, okay, I'll be serious here....ahem...
Anime is a highly overrated piece of crap form of media in which most are ridiculed for enjoying it (and for good reason).
Fans of anime are genuinely and usually the people you never want to meet in real life, and when you do, conversations are so weird and uncomfortable you just start to wonder how much the world would benefit from this person never even existing.
Naruto and Bleach are good examples of nerds claiming they understand the Japanese culture and even begin to adopt this imaginary form of life as their own. Truth be told, real Japanese people aren't disgusting nerds that live in their basement fapping to guy on guy anime porn. I'm sure there are some, but non native people who are fans of anime seem to fit that criteria.
I'm not saying I hate all anime, Miyazaki is an inspiration to every aspiring artist, and Akira was brilliant because it broke through the 15 frames per second bullshit that every other anime seemed to contribute.
And on the subject of English speakers who claim to understand the Japanese way of life, I HATE it when they draw anime. Gah! It pisses me off that people cannot develop their own form of art and a sense of individuality.
Phew, how was that?

I think a lot of people can agree on those points, actually. Still, the things you point out are pretty big stereotypes. I've seen plenty of anime fans that aren't anything like what you just described. Case in point: my last girlfriend. Another thing I notice is that you aren't exactly familiar with how much anime there is and what kinds there are. It's really more of an art style than anything else. That's a pretty broad statement you're making by hating it in it's entirety. For the record, I actually prefer to call it "animation made in Japan". Rolls off my long, sticky, fly-seeking tongue better.

It's really more of an art style than anything else. It;s not really an art style if every single anime looks like it was drawn by the same person. Blue hair? Bubbly eyes? Femine men? I could go on.

"Things you think that no one seems to agree on": This just may be the most controversial topic yet. ...Not personally against you.

Here's one on my take on the Church.
Not one hyper-conservative Bible-thumping nitwit I've ever met or heard seems to have actually read the thing. Seriously, just going through the book of Matthew with no attempt to interpret it, I picked up on alot of things that these people seem to have missed, for example, Matthew 8:12. These people are so focused on John 3:16-18 that they fail to pay attention to the rest of the book. Christ had a message, and just knowing that he came down to die for your sins doesn't mean you're Christian. Matthew 8:12 sums it up. Christ himself says that anyone who thinks they belong to Heaven is wrong. He's saying, then, that there's more to following him than just knowing "Jay-sus dah'd fer yoo an' 'e's the Son o' Gawd." You want to throw your book around? Read it first.

Matthew 8:12
But the sons of the kingdom will be put out into the dark, and there will be weeping and cries of pain.
Shrikewind, maybe I'm missing something here...

"The sons of the kingdom" refers to the folks who think they do belong in heaven. It's easier to explain in context. The story Matt 8:12 takes place in is the story of the centurion who asked Jesus to heal his servant. Here's the conversation. Guess who's in red.
"Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented." "I will come and heal him." "Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it." "Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you."
