I want to know why the western release of this game is such a while away, when they can just do a text dump of the Gold/Silver script, instead of re-translating the japanese text (since it is a remake, I imagine that a huge percentage of the text would remain the same).

I expect nearly all the text has been revised to some degree. And besides, Pokemon games are on a specific sales cycle. Platinum's not long been out, so you have to wait for that as well.

According to Serebii.net, a placeholder/rumored release date for the PAL regions is March 16th, 2010 - which would put it damn close to the US release date assuming it's true. Take that with a grain of salt, of course, but I think it's worth noting. It'd be nice for our PAL-region buddies to get a game the same time we do for once. serebii.net/index2.shtml

It would, indeed, be very nice. But I don't believe it.
I'm betting July at the earliest.

Oooh, those look really pretty.
I don't go walking (shitty ankles), so I'm gonna have to, like, tape the Pokewalker to the washing machine or something.

For all those interested, the Pikachu coloured Pichu is now available over Wi-Fi for Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum until the 25th. Trade this to HG/SS and you'll unlock the spiked ear Pichu.

Thanks for the news I take it it's also available in Europe. I think if anyone in USA got this Pichu earlier, should download the Pichu anyway, for the sole reason that it has rare moves that could be used as an evolved Pokémon.

This is actually a European event, however any English language cart will work.

Can this work after you delete the Wonder Cards you obtained with the Pikachu-colored Pichus at a GameStop? I already obtained two of them, but I haven't deleted the Wonder Cards and tried downloading them through Wi-Fi, yet. I tried downloading them without deleting their Wonder Cards, but they said I already received the gifts.

I don't think so. I think the game considers them to be the same regardless if you have the old Wondercard or not.
