Hmm...another Pokemon thread.
Everyone's been speculating a remake of these amazing Pokemon titles for some time now, but with Pokemon Sunday's upcoming announcement, the rumors are really starting to fly.
Now, if you think about it, it's about time for a remake of Gold and Silver. Pokemon Red and Green came out in Japan in 1996, and Firered/Leafgreen came out in 2004. That's only an eight year difference. It's been ten years since Gold and Silver came out
Anyways, if they were to remake these games, what do you guys think would be added? Would they put the Safari Zone in? How would they change the bug catching contest? Would Cinnabar Island be inhabited?
My hopes are up so high right now.

I just want that awesome Bellsprout Tower to come back. Having a Gengar and Victreebel in my team that early was awesome ;D

I like the way they advanced the Kanto region by aging it 3 years. That was super cool... IN THEORY. What it turned into, however, was just a case of removing every single place that was cool to save memory. Don't do that again. Change the region up, because thats really cool - but do it properly this time.
That is all.

It would be cool if Nintendo used the graphic capabilities of the DS and made the Tin Tower all burnt up and smokey and you'd be able to see the floor underneath you from all the holes.

Even with those extra placed removed, visiting Kanto was cool. In the spirit of Second Generation, the new Gold and Silver should allow you to visit Hoenn and Sinnoh too.

I still think Gold/Silver has the best music of all Pokemon games, so I'm actually looking forward to hearing the newly arranged themes.... if there's gonna be a G/S remake anyway.

I'm willing to bet the announcement is definitely Gold/Silver remakes. It's an announcement for new "main series" games, and it's much too soon to make Generation 5.
I'll buy it, Gold/Silver/Crystal ruled :]

The references to Johto in recent games are well documented; still, I can't help but feel intrigued by newer ones seen in Platinum.
I'm still wondering how they'll handle past features like the use of Whirlpool, Headbutt and the production of Poké Balls via Apricorns. Whirlpool isn't too hard to figure out, though; Pokémon would simply be made compatible with it once again.
I hope Celebi is made available via a Wi-Fi Mystery Gift worldwide this time.

Now, as much as all this is fun, I feel it necessary to point out that it's too early to start spreading rumors of RSE remakes.
I want the names to be SunGold and MoonSilver and I want the Kanto changes to be different from the originals. I also want to have access to Celebi instead of just "Oh, only on Crystal and only in Japan."

Glittering Gold and Sparkling Silver. I'm calling it now. ;D
I'd like it if they didn't dick over Lavender Tower - that was my favorite area in RBYFRLG, and emptying out a Pokémon graveyard to make room for a radio station has always struck me as, I dunno, a mite sacreligeous? XD I did like revisiting Kanto aside from that, though; the only other thing I'd fix is properly advancing the levels of the Kanto trainers because GSC made them stronger, but only in proportion to how early you found them in the originals...I'm sorry, but fighting a Bug Trainer with a level 30 team does nothing for me when my team is in the 50s/60s. XD
While I like the idea of going to visit Hoenn and Sinnoh, I doubt we'll get any Hoenn action; the map was pretty big, probably as large as Kanto and Johto combined, or close to it, so I doubt we'll see 3D Hoenn until 5Gen rolls around. Also, Hoenn is my least favorite of the four areas because of all the gotdamn water. But it'd be a neat connectivity bonus if you could have trainers from DPPt and GGSS (still calling it) getting to explore the others' areas and fight their trainers and gym leaders.
That probably won't happen, but a guy can dream.
I wonder what the GSC trainers will look like now...

The graveyard moved to a house to the south. Still weird, though.
If it's about names, I'll call SeaSilver and SkyGold just to cover more possibilities.

Well, according to the internet, they might be called DuskGold and DawnSilver.

Those are names I don't like. They don't roll off the tongue like FireRed and LeafGreen did and do, hence my thought that it should be SunGold and MoonSilver. They sound better to me.

The graveyard moved to a house to the south. Still weird, though. Yeah, I know, but that bothered me too. An entire freaking tower full of Pokemon graves condensed into a house about 1/12th the size. XD Silly, ain't it?

XD Silly, ain't it? It sure is ^_^ Weird thing is, they even broadcast the Poké Flute tune and Mr. Fuji doesn't seem to be annoyed at it, him being the one who gave you the item in the old days. That only makes it more WTF, though.
