Non-desirable: Avoidance of evolutions / baby Eggs during the main quest just because they didn't exist before. Like for example not being able to produce Gliscor even if you get a Razor Fang from a friend, or not being able to produce Wynaut even if you use the Lax Incense. Allow it but list the numbers of Pokémon that aren't part of the regional Pokédex as " ". No Kanto at all. This would be absurd because the Pokémon League of G/S/C takes place at the Indigo Plateau, which as we all know, is part of Kanto together with surrounding routes. Don't forget that there is going to be a Pokedex Version 6 which is obviously based on the DSi. I wonder what is going to look like...

As far as looks go, I think they're more likely to just use the second PokéDex design again. Like how FireRed and LeafGreen still used the first.

Screen, art and announcement footage! The wind can actually be seen (white lines) going through the footage they showed (sort of like the WindWaker) EDIT: It appears that starters may walk behind you in the game, so that an interesting new development. Also here's a nice comparison image of the original game. Graphics sure have come a long way.

Literally "where the winds of new beginnings blow" if you watch closely ^_^
Too bad we didn't see the easternmmost edge of the town.
Also partner Pokémon is a good leap long expected since Pokémon Yellow.

I only wish they had done that about a generation earlier. Having Charizard and Blaziken follow Red and May around (respectively, and I did say May, yes) would have been pretty cool. I wonder if this is going to apply to all Pokemon so long as they're up front.

I say it should. The ones at the Amity Square, and some NPC ones aren't exactly starter Pokémon and they exist, so why not extending it to more. Plus it was about time. Something else I wonder is if they'd follow you even in places where puzzles are involved (i.e. Gyms, the Ice Path). All of that could possibly be mentioned somewhere in that footage in Japanese without me understanding it

Puzzle areas are doubtful, but it'd be interesting if they did.
I wish I could understand Japanese.

Kinda odd it's still moving while you're idle. Will probably be fixed before the game's release.
Also I wonder if they're gonna throw in that skateboard that was in G/S's beta. Could have a skateboard/bike this time around to reach different areas, like with the 2 bikes in Ruby/Sapphire.

I think the Pokemon will follow for certain areas of the game. If you look closely, Silver is in the window, so it's before he stole his Pokemon. I'm thinking your starter will follow you up to maybe Mr. Pokemon's house.
I dunno.

This isn't the first time your starter followed you around. Remember Pokemon Yellow?
Anyway, can't wait for more news!

This isn't the first time your starter followed you around. Remember Pokemon Yellow? Uh...derp? They're not going to have the whole game centered around your Pokemon following you. That was cute for the 90's, but not now.

I dunno, the fact that they made such a big deal over it in the video seems to suggest it's going to be a major feature. I mean, they went over that footage twice just to emphasise it. It's all they were talking about while the game footage was playing, too.

Course, if your starter DOES follow you the entire game, you gotta admit a Typhlosion at your back would be bad-ass.

I'd have to worry about Feraligatr, though. He might eat you hard if you blow it as a decent trainer.
