Yeah, I'm going for Soul Silver, I feel like playing both GS right now, next week but it's more faster with Dodrio Game Boy Tower. I hope Satoshi Yamamoto is prepared after the Platinum Saga. I wonder what all the characters look like after? Mostly Silver, Anzu/Janine and Hayate/ Falkner. I still think Gold/Silver has the best music of all Pokemon games, so I'm actually looking forward to hearing the newly arranged themes.... if there's gonna be a G/S remake anyway. Yeah, Goldenrod Game Corner BGM was the best in my opinion

Some tracks in G/S are precious. I enjoyed listening to some of them in FR/LG; that was a nice surprise there. This is a subjective list of what would be desirable, non-desirable and interesting to me, in these remakes. Desirable: - Things seen in Crystal, like both protagonist genders being available (this one is obvious), a theme song for the legendary beasts, the Battle Tower, and possibly a character like Eusine.
- Keep the custom Ball system in which Kurt of Azalea creates them using Apricorns, no matter if they re-introduce Johto-specific Balls that can't be sent to other regions (a new pocket in the bag?).
- Some kind of epilogue with Giovanni actually appearing!
Non-desirable: - Avoidance of evolutions / baby Eggs during the main quest just because they didn't exist before. Like for example not being able to produce Gliscor even if you get a Razor Fang from a friend, or not being able to produce Wynaut even if you use the Lax Incense. Allow it but list the numbers of Pokémon that aren't part of the regional Pokédex as "".
- No Kanto at all. This would be absurd because the Pokémon League of G/S/C takes place at the Indigo Plateau, which as we all know, is part of Kanto together with surrounding routes.
Interesting to see: - The Headbutt trees and the availability of Headbutt given that it's not a TM anymore (Honey trees are larger, rare and can only be slathered from one side).
- The availability of Whirlpool given that it's not an HM anymore.
- What will they do with the time machine. It could still be used to transfer past Pokémon (i.e. GBA in DS or DS Lite) more comfortably.
- The moves and abilities given to Gym Leaders' Pokémon.
- Gym Leader Blue and Pokémon Trainer Red!
- The in-game confirmation that Silver is Giovanni's son (because, regardless of the manga confirmation, I bet he is!).

My team of six Ledyba will be named Foy, Carl, Juan, Yuki, Selene, and Escrima. That answer your question?

@johans: I agree about the National Dex thing. It was silly what they did in FR/LF
I think what they might do is make an Apricorn Case, that way they can avoid that whole trade the item issue. The Balls will most likely be the ones we currently have though.
That or you would give berries to Kurt and he'd make them into PokeBalls but that seems kinda silly...

That or you would give berries to Kurt and he'd make them into PokeBalls but that seems kinda silly... Thing is, some of them have been stated to be produced by Devon, making them sound kind of artificial. Kurt's son is said to work at Silph Co., which I guess produces the classic Poké Balls and upgrades. So the very fact that Kurt crafts them... contrasts (in my mind) a little with the ones that are said to be produced by those companies. However, I overlooked something when I talked about preventing them from being transferred to other versions (even by creating a separate pocket for them): Pokémon are forever contained within the Poké Balls they were caught with, as seen when you call them during a Pokémon battle. Since Kurt's Balls don't exist in D/P/Pt (sprites would already exist, but they do not - they would have been blatant clues about these versions otherwise), then I declare I have no clue.

Maybe they'll do what they did with trainer sprites from FRLG to Ruby and Sapphire: Bluff. Just use a regular Poke Ball.

There's already a bit array for each of the Balls and that includes the one for regular Poké Balls. Or do you mean bit arrays with an unassigned Ball would be shown as regular Poké Balls?

I would say they just turn things like the Heavy Ball into "regular" balls when you see them in DPPt.
I, for one, would love to see them give the legendaries of Johto similar treatment to the legendaries of gen 3 and upward: special items that boost their stats and, furthermore, some way to "change abilities." Lugia and Ho-oh are powerful beasties, but they're never used because they pale in comparison to the other Tier Ones! Let's give them some items that boost their power and give them more useful abilities. Shit, if they could do it for something crappy like Shaymin...
Also, who thinks we'll see at least one more "alternate forme" for an old Pokemon? There's no reason they wouldn't do it and, frankly, I can't see them not. Wouldn't be surprised if we got a chance to catch Mewtwo and Mew in this one either, as well as the obvious Celebi.

I don't think we'll ever see Mewtwo in another game that's not a re-release of Gen1; so far as anyone knows, he's the only one-of-a-kind Pokemon out there. I mean, yeah, there are others we don't have confirmation on yet, like Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza, and obviously any 4Gen legendaries, but I expect HGSS to remedy that somewhat.
Also, maybe there will be a patch to fix the Apricorn thing, since 4Gen is interwebbulous.

Let's give them some items that boost their power and give them more useful abilities. For a Soul Dew- or Adamant Orb-like item, the simplest thing I can think about for now is turning the Sacred Ash into a held item I don't know about Lugia, though. I'm not sure about which appearances of foreign legendaries could happen at the end of the game, but Mewtwo and Mew could work. Maybe Arceus? It'll be the more recent one, and doing it would be like Deoxys in FR/LG. Also, the Kanto starters could be given as a bonus when traveling to Kanto if you complete some kind of task (like when you're given one of the Johto ones in Emerald).
