If you've ever played Metroid Prime 3 you can see Retro Studios was injecting emotion into her but they did it right. When Gandrayda was dieing she transformed into Samus and screamed, Samus looked in horror but then closed her eyes and turned away, getting a hold over herself.
Also in one of the unlockable endings in Prime 3, Samus is sitting by herself starring into the sky remembering her fellow hunters she had to kill.
It showed Samus has emotions but doesn't let them get the best of her. This was a very good portrayal of Samus, silently sorrow but still keeps going.

I don't play Metroid games even though I did try a bit of them all (except Prime 2 or Prime 3), so I'm not attached to one or another depiction of Samus... Hence all I know is that I'm liking how they managed to do everything with the use of the Wii Remote alone.
Music is also great from what I've seen in videos.

Nah, it was not the ending, it was playable Zero Suit Samus! Its was something I had hoped for in this game. |

I am pretty sure Samus was ordered around by men way back in the first four Metroid games when she was ordered to go to Planet Zebes and SR388. NO! Samus is supposed to be strong, assertive, independent and fearless female bounty hunter that she decided all on her own without any man ordering her around to go to Planet Zebes to hunt some alien wildlife for the lulz and then go to SR388 to drive an entire species to extinction for moar lulz and then go back to Planet Zebes to hunt some more alien wildlife and then blow up said planet into smitherseens for even moar lulz and then go back to SR388 with her male cohorts (because she is clearly the leader. Go! Girl Power!) to hunt some more alien wildlife for the lulz only to get infected with AIDS and anti-lulz. And Ridley looks better now. He doesn't have a pencil neck anymore. Now his neck will be able to realistically support his giant head. Now tell us what you really think of women.  But you know what? If every valid point I make is going to be met with macros and the most amazing retardism, you can have your stupid victory. "You've caught me: I'm nothing but a stupid Metroid fanboy who's crying sexism out of utter ignorance. Instead of proving what I'm saying, all I want to do is cause drama, etc. etc. etc." I hope hearing what you want to hear is enough for you, because I'm not bothering with this subject anymore. There is also another returning boss, but I won't spoil that one like I had it (willingly) spoiled for me.
