I think it's time for this to get a thread since it's coming out so soon.   (Above left NA boxart, right PAL boxart, not that the swordfighter faces are covered with protective masks). Also here's the current "sports" in the package. * Frisbee (Frisbee Dog and Frisbee Golf) * Power Cruising (Jet Ski) * Kendo (Swordplay vs, some swordplay adventure mode, and some competetive chopping mode) * Table Tennis * Golf * Air Sports - Skydiving and Airplane exploration (think E3 06 Airplane demo and Pliotwing 64's Birdman mode) and even multiplayer dogfighting * Basketball * Archery * Cycling (Supposedly the dud game) * Bowling * Canoeing * Wakeboarding  This image is awesome, you can even see the sword fighting arena and a building with a giant bowling pin. |

Wii Sports is till awesome, I hope this is at least half as much so.

I do expect I will pick this up, although I may have to pick up a spare Wii Motion Plus  It's nice to see the biplane game return from pre-release demo world. Is it just me, or does the Wii Fit / Wii Sports Resort island look suspiciously like the first island from Pilotwings 64? |

Here's a preview of WSR, (confirms that there are more than 1 game in some game catogories, Basketball is "3 point shootoff" and "actual basketball.") Here's some gameplay footage from the Japanese site. Sword fighting has footage from the adventure mode at the end Frisbee Archery Golf Power Cruising

Wow impressive. That Power Cruising might take some getting used to having to balance the Wii Remote and Nunchuck together.

The definate MUST WATCH WSR trailer. (shows off clips of Basketball, BMX, Wakeboarding and multiplayer, very impressive).

I've not been paying much attention to WSR, as I knew I'd be buying it, but... Frisbee Golf? Hell yes! And Bowling's back too, which means I'll probably never have to put the original Wii Sports back in my Wii again. Though I fear that my lack of skills in real bowling may actually become a problem now.

Seen the Japanese website of this game.
Looks far better than the original Wii Sports. This game doesn't look like it's a mere minigame compilation - you do actually get to see those Miis having fun - and that's more than just "sports".

Interesting, the European Nintendo Channel is saying that WSR has some sort of online mode and WiiConnect 24.   Knowing Nintendo, don't bet on any online multiplayer but leaderboard might be likely. Suposedly there are going to online leaderboards in S&P2, so who knows what could happen. |

Seen some vids from the Japanese website. Air sports and cycling (obviously) don't feel like the actual sport at all. I'm surprised Basketball actually features some competition.

cool, glad the bike controls the way I hoped, and not the way I thought (requiring a balance board) One thing I've wondered is whether you'd actually be able to go around the island on foot, as watching the plane one makes it look cool that there's so much going on. Not that I'd be dissapointed if not, but it would be a cool little extra.
