BTW, the Japanese name for Guerrilla was Donkey Yung. Chained Kong was Barrel Kong.

Hmm... those self-referential cameos probably count, but I will need screenshots before I add them. And seeing as I suck at RPGs, I'm gonna need some help on those Note: I'm not going to include cameos from unreleased games or fan translations. Even if it's a perfect translation, I'll need the screenshot from the original version first.

Oh yeah, Yoshi appears to be based on Tamagon from Devil World. They both have the same coloring and hatch out of eggs with the same sound effect. And there are the Special World references (SFC logo and SMB music).
BTW, how are you classifying test cartridges? For instance, the SNES test cart includes Mario sprites.

The GBA version of DKC3 contains a Cobra Triangle Cameo. I know I posted this long time ago. I've think I've got a screenshot.

Oh yeah, Yoshi appears to be based on Tamagon from Devil World. They both have the same coloring and hatch out of eggs with the same sound effect. I noticed the Tamagon thing when I first played Devil World. I'm not 100% sure if it's intentional or not. The egg sound effect is the same, but is it a "generic" sound effect for a hatching egg in Japan? I might mention it again... but it's always seemed a little tenuous to me. BTW, how are you classifying test cartridges? For instance, the SNES test cart includes Mario sprites. I'm not classifying them at present. Perhaps I will in the future. The GBA version of DKC3 contains a Cobra Triangle Cameo. I know I posted this long time ago. I've think I've got a screenshot. Aha, so you did. No worries... I think I have a screenshot of it somewhere already

If I remember right Yoshi's fire breathing sound effect in SMW sounds about the same as Tamagon's in Devil World aswell. Plus there's the angel wings powerup Yoshi can earn in SMW. Maybe Yoshi ain't based on him, but they suuure are similar.

Tei actually posted that already. And I listened to the Onett Arcade music and I couldn't hear anything from Xevious. And I love Xevious

It's the tune that loops infinitely after the beginning fanfare in Xevious. Or at least it's very similar. In the arcade's BGM, It's like the third instrument that plays.

It's actually the seventh .SPC channel in which you can hear Xevious.

Right, I have uploaded all of the SNES cameos to the site, and found a few others scattered around the forums that needed to be added in too. I still need to add the boat race from DKC3. I considered the Xevious thing, having a good listen to both Xevious and to the Onett Arcade music. I can see what bit everyone is talking about, but it's hardly a "tune"... just 3-4 notes being played in quick succession over and over... and they're not identical... which kinda puts the nail in the coffin for that one for me. I might have a change of heart. Who can say?

No mention of the return of HAL room in the Kirby Super Star / Ultra page Or is it that you're waiting for screenshots? (Can't help on that, sorry, unless you want me to use my trusty camera.) And I think Toads are on BOTH sides of DDD's stadium. *starts DS and checks* I win.
