But wait, wouldn't that also have counted as a Easter Egg if you were still doing those?

No, because it's not really a "secret" message.
However, I am considering adding in other "interesting things". This message, for example, isn't a cameo, but messages from the developers are quite common in games, and interesting.
Then rather than including all the secrets and cheats in every game, I can still include things that are interesting nonetheless. Maybe I could also include all the bits and pieces that can't be accessed in-game (like the debug modes and whatnot) or other mysteries (like that weird door in Mario Sunshine).
But I'd better get the cameos finished first, then we can go back and tackle these. I'm sure there's loads of strange things and mysteries that need solving.

I think you really should eventually discover things like the book in Mario Shinshine!
But I agree that proper cameos should go frist.

What are these weird doors and books of which you speak in Mario Sunshine? See im interested already! I'd certainly read such a section on the site!

Since the lady asked...
In the Noki Bay 8 red coins mission in Sunshine, you can find a door towards the bottom of the bottle. You can't open it, and most people miss it. It's just there...
The interesting part is you can glitch the camera around it. And there is a book just lying on the floor. Neither have ever been explained.

That's cool.
The Rare logo is spelled out in Bananas in the "Animal Antics" level in DKC2.

There are loads of words spelled out in DKC, including Rare. It kinda counts, but I'll need screenshots of all occurrences and comparisons with later games (in case they're different).

I have to say no on that one.
HOWEVER, I can see why someone would link it with ROB. They are kinda similar looking.

Not sure if have the screenshot. Sorry for my recent idiocy. I can't explain it... well actually I can. People on this board started with me because I didn't hear something in Mario Kart: DD that I was expecting to hear so I went along with being a stupid ass for a while to show them what stupid really is. Right, I know it's been a while, but next up for cameo additions is the SNES, and I just want to make sure I have as many down as I can before we get started.
Can anyone who wants to help have a flick through what has already been posted here and check that nothing important has been forgotten, and that everything has enough details for posting on the site. I will be doing the same.

OK, I am replaying SMRPG and will get screenshots of every singe cameo listed, even the ones you don't need shots for. Just because I'm a comletionist like that.
I will also get one shot for something that isn't really a cameo, but interesting nontheless- Square snuck a reference to Peach's Japanese name in the game at a time when she was still widely called Toadstool. When Belome eats her in the second fight, his comment is "Mmm! Tastes peachy!".
