I don't know whether this counts as a cameo with the way they're set up now, or whether this is already common knowledge, but I just discovered it yesterday, and a quick search of the forum turned up nothing.
On the MK:DD title screen, if you press start once, but don't actually go into any of the menus, eventually the music turns into the Super Mario Kart title music.
If I'm the last person to have actually discovered this, please go ahead and delete this thread.

The demo disk that comes with certain promotional copies of MK DD uses the Mario Kart DD theme song. Does that count?

The SMK title screen music is remixed into MKDD, MKDS, and MKWii title screens. I don't know if that's a cameo so much as a running theme.

Then maybe you should've....I dunno.... given it more than five minutes?

Most game songs aren't longer than 5 minutes, so that would be more than enough time to prove or disprove this. I'm with Megabyte on this one... It's just the series title theme now, mixed in to the titles of several games.
Sorry Kirbs!

You definitely don't have to give it anywhere near five minutes. Or even a minute. What song are you listening to, nensondubois? But, I just did some tests (which I guess I should've done before I posted about it), to see how long it does take, and whether it only happens if you have the secret title screen... turns out it's not as hidden as I thought, but you can't hear it on the regular title screen. The music cuts off and restarts just before it begins, which is why I'd never heard it. It only makes it as far as the SMK theme if you press start once to stop demos from playing, which my girlfriend's little sister did when she got bored and wandered away from the Wii. I didn't actually know the song was in all the games... guess I'd better go back and listen to them. The only other title screen theme I can remember is the MK64 one, which I guess is the only one which didn't use it.

It's remixed into Mario Kart 64 too. I'm sure it's a "series" theme.
Remixing music involve changing tempo, pitch, and sometime turning a previous song into mere sound effect. You also need sharp ears (grab someone much younger than you, or me since I'm rather good at it) to recognise stuff.
Like how the SMW remix in Brawl contains ACMB notes.

I know what a remix is, YL. It isn't hard to recognise a melody. But you're right, it is in the MK64 title theme too... I don't know what the song I was thinking of was, but... it wasn't this one.

I just pressed start where the three menus were and left it there for about five minutes and I turned it off. Kazumi's songs usually take about three minutes so I gave it a little longer. I could use VGMstream and fast forward about ten or maybe fifteen minutes into the song just to see.

Apparently nobody who's uploaded the song to YouTube knows about the SMK theme, though, since they all fade out before it starts. Except this one, which fades out just as it begins. Listen at 0:55. That's the SMK theme starting.

Wait a minute!
I heard that part on my game and it's not the original Mario Kart theme at all, not even the melody is similar.
