Now we all know about this. The story of Kevin helping out in so-called "Videoland" to take down "Mother Brain" with the help of other video game characters and exploring various worlds! Sounds totally cool, right? thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/thatguywiththeglasses/nostalgia-critic/10213-captainn(Nostalgia Critic's dead-on review of the series) ...Wrong. It's crystal clear that the bastards in charge of this show's production didn't even play the games. Were they provided with only itty-bits of information on the various game elements or what? Now, it's not so much the basic premise of the idea that was so bad, it was how they did it all. I don't know where to begin with the many bits and bobs of this series, but here goes: - Of course, they just had to gay up Simon Belmont, a royal slap in the face to many Castlevania fans. While his portrayal was way off, the way his character and behavior came off did quite tickle my feet at times.
- I didn't really mind King Hippo being blue-skinned like that. It's actually more fitting for his "hippo" motif. But that was it...
- Mother Brain. Taken too literally, much?
- Rumor has it that Princess Lana was slightly modeled after the old Palutena design. What about that?
- Kevin presses the goddamn Select button to "pause".
- PIT's little speech impedimenticus! Oh noes-icus! It's CONTAGICUS, I tell youicus!!
I could just go on. But then again, these inaccurate atrocities are what make it hilarious at best. Bottom line: Great concept, fail execution. If there's a chance it does come about again one day (slim, I know), it just has to be done properly. In the meantime, bring on Captain N discussion of any kind. |

You didnt' mention Mega Man, in all his mega midgit sized, mega green colored, mega frog voiced glory! Ah, I forgot about that. Thanks, though.  It's like Popeye smoking the entire Marlboro factory! He sounded more like Zorak from Space Ghost. (Nah, he's a lot better with his voice) |

Modern Zorak or original Space Ghost Zorak? I adore Zorak's current voice, but his old one was pretty standard Hanna Barbara villainy.
I don't remember much of Captain N, honestly. I had a Valiant Comic of it for a long time, and that wasn't too bad. It had Samus in it over Simon and Mega Man, which was probably a better trade-off in terms of personality, to be honest. XD Samus was pretty bad ass in it, and it probably influenced my liking of her character some.

That's right, the current Zorak's voice. Most villains in those types of shows way back when all sounded the same.

Oh man. I remember loving Captain N when I was a kid, but I went back about a year ago and tried to watch it. It hurt so hardcore. I hate the show for the injustices it did to Megaman, but what I loathe the most is what they did to poor Cutman:  Wait, I'm sorry, Cut sman. Jesus Christ... |

The other robot masters also made an appearance, looking just as stupid. And yeah back then I loved this show because HELL YEAH MEGAMAN, but I couldn't even sit through one episode when I checked it out on youtube some time ago. Oh and that green man. From the intro. Fuck whoever's idea that was, that thing gave me nightmares. |

Worst part about Mega Man's voice is that he went on to appear in other cartoons,most notably as Mitch Mitchellson on the Powerpuff Girls.  |

And the one third from the bottom on the right side between Airman and Quickman...is that Flashman?! They took that name and fucked it up the ass with nigh-copyright infringement! |

Ooh, this is fun. Gutsman, Bombman, Ice Man and Fire Man at least has some semblence to their original designs. Elecman...no. Keebler elf reject indeed.
The Mega Man 2 bots are all off the mark and horribly redesigned (And yes, I'd bet that's FlashMan. At least he isn't red), and Top Man looks atrocious as well. Metal Man in particular...eww. Quick Man...fail. And who's that in the bottom right corner? Wily Bot?
Just terrible. XD

Having read up on Doc Robot, I can't fault them for getting him wrong. His Japanese name- Dokurobotto- is a combination of Doku (Skull) and Robotto (Robot.). So he has nothing to do with Doctors. Honestly, they shoulda changed the name for the English release.
