I'm sure only in North America people get that offended Simple names, and at the same time, as trivial as chess piece colors. Game mascot speculation time!

I speculate NoA changing this into Pokemon Light/Dark or the like. Either way lots of wacky racist pokemon jokes coming up!

So is it "Pokemon Black & White" or "Pokemon White & Black"? Being that I always pick the second title, I need to know if I'm a White Supremacist or if I'm going Black and not going back.

It seems to be Pokémon Black and White so far. Don't you wish these games had special features for 3DS? I mean like those games from 10 years ago that could be played both on the Game Boy and the Game Boy Color (Gold and Silver being the Pokémon example).

I'd like to hear Jynx's opinion on this: Thank you, Jynx, for that insightful exploration of race relations.

The folks over at Destructoid have translated the page. They say more information will be revealed on April 15. EDIT: Official Nintendo Magazine says that details will be available in Coro Coro Magazine, on sale April 15th. However, some information will be released April 11th on Pokemon Sunday.

I, for one, don't like the titles. I'm all for clever titles on video games. I kind of liked the transition to gem stones, and then weird shit like "Heart and Soul." There's no reason they couldn't do something like "Sun and Moon" or "Ring and Crescent," something more symbolic and less "cliche." Black and White just cries unoriginal, like they had been saving the two titles for years knowing that, as long as they could keep being clever, they wouldn't need to resort to that color combo. There's already enough things that go by "Black and White," you know? That said, the screenshots look AMAZING. It's potentially full-3D this time around, the battles now show the FULL Pokemon complete with actual shadows www.serebii.net (serebii doesn't allow hotlinking, so just see it for yourself!)

Oh neat, pictures. I was afraid by full-3D you meant 3D pokemon battles, but I'm glad that's still done with sprites.
I was kinda hoping for some sort of trainer creator this time around, but I suppose I'll have to wait for a fully 3D RPG for that to happen.

Pretty nice. So that's the girl Trainer? I guess we'll watch this stuff in video in a few hours.
The legendary mascots might have to do with ying and yang or stuff like that. I mean the names of the versions always have to do with the features in the mascots. The typing of Palkia and Dialga is weird just because they have pearls and diamonds in them.

Better those new legendaries have at least good backstory, so Mewtwo-fans will not despise them- (-ll-) Dunno, but Arceus-stuff isn't so appealing to me.
But 3D-madness is still in good use, great blending of 2D and 3D. Cities look gorgeus. (-lwl-)

Yes they do. I do wish they'd get more creative though. If they're having trouble thinking of names that have to do with red, blue, and green, something is wrong. Off the top of my head, I can already prattle off three.
Iron, Cobalt, and Copper - I'm not sure about copper since most people attribute that to orange and not it's oxidizing green, but iron and cobalt are awesome because everyone knows what old iron looks like, it's rust, and cobalt is known for being blue. Great names, with the exception of copper, which is still decent. As Johans points out, the names often have to do with the legendaries, so this one leaves up a trio of Steel-types, which does make the idea awkward to me. Body, Mind, and Spirit - What I like about this trio is that it doesn't depend on color, but you could still put it in. Plus, we'd get a Fighting-Psychic-Ghost or Fighting-Psychic-Dark trio, either way being awesome. Power, Wisdom, and Courage - What makes this one great is the amount of Zelda jokes you could pull. For example, the starters could be a Deku Scrub, a Goron, and a Zora, the legendaries could be based on Ganon, Zelda, and Link, a fairy Pokemon that knows, among other things, Recover and Lock-On......

Oh boy, more 'closer to the ground' perspectives! I love going to Olivine Lighthouse and the roof of the Celadon Apartment because of the different camera angle.
And whoa, it looks like Pokemon is finally going to have a proper city area! I look at the skyscrapers in that one screenshot and instantly think "New York City," which is something I'd never associated with Pokemon before.
Conversely it also makes me think of Orre and Pokemon Colosseum. I hope the new region isn't a colorless wasteland. Orre sucks.

No gameplay footage was shown yesterday (remember the pictures were just a leak, so probably next week).
About the scan, I heard it mentions this (but don't trust me as I can't read Japanese): - "More intense battle scenes" - "More realistic towns" - "Evolution 3" <-- Some advise not to take this as Pokémon literally having up to 3 evolution levels

I'm guessing more intense battle scenes basically means more animations for each Pokemon sprite, aka bunch of animations for different attacks, status ailments and a fainting one. Would be the right step up from just animated introductions.
(Though they will probably give each 'mon just one attack animation and then you'll have monsters using Thunder Punch with their FACE like in Stadium 1)
