Kick ass, man. Rep for you.
I think the jellyfish is actually a man o war. Makes sense to me. And I'm so glad to get an Archeopteryx. When RS was first shown off, they showed Sceptile, and that's what I figured it was. I was totally dissapointed. This generation also looks like it will give a boost to the PokeOrigin topic.

If I remember correctly there is a certain kind of snake which is born with limbs and loses them as it grows. So that at least isn't so crazy. Well, The Bible's Snake of the Garden of Eden could be another inspiration, since it does have legs and then God smites it to losing it's legs. Also, the snake was considered sinister, and there were speculations in the beginning that Tsutaja was going to become Grass/Dark. But still, it's just some fan flailing. Don't think too much about it. Holy shit, a Bible reference I missed!? I'm slippin'!

Also, Smugleaf is probably the Western influenced starter- Pignition is Chinese, and Wotter is Japanese, so that leaves Smugleaf with only one choice.

Also, Smugleaf is probably the Western influenced starter- Pignition is Chinese, and Wotter is Japanese, so that leaves Smugleaf with only one choice. That was explicit in the Pokémon Peer interview. This is the excerpt that culminates with the ambiguity on how would the otter look in the end. Ohmura: There was also talk this time about dividing the three starters into Japanese, Western, and Chinese styles of design. Tsutarja was based on Western design, and Pokabu was rooted in a Chinese style, so I was told, "Let's make Mijumaru into a more Japanese-style design." Someone even asked, "Can't you make Mijumaru into a samurai?" [laughs]
Everyone: [laughs]
Sugimori: I worried about it for a while, and I eventually went to go see the sea otters at the aquarium. I happened to catch the sea lion show while I was there, and I became aware of the sea lion's power. "Well, let's try blending a sea otter and a sea lion," I thought. I came up with the idea of making the shell on Mijumaru's stomach into a sword (katana) and using it to fight, and that's how I completed Mijumaru and its evolution."

I hope you encounter icecream mon by chance when checking out some NPC's fridge.
Apparently Japan's release is less then a week away. With Pokefans being hardcore as they are they'll probably upload the ingame sprites within MINUTES. Can't wait to see the full list of oddballs.

Last generation, it was 2 days before the official release when Arty2 of Legendary Pokémon ripped the menu sprites. This time it's obvious one or more people in the world already got access to them given the fanarts that Pokéxperto has published. Maybe we'll get to see sprites anytime within this week.

3 days, actually. And it's inevitable we'll get a true leak a day or so before that.
In other news the spiked ball Pokemon DiU showed off in that list may be based on a durian, as someone on Bulbapedia suggested. I sincerly hope it is- just to see more bizarre love for an ungodly fruit.
Rumors on Bulbapedia are also saying there is a fire anteater, that the ghost/fire Pokemon are a candle/lantern/candelabra family and that there is a psychic type 2 stage alien family. I can see all of these being true.

Apparently, the fighting trio is based off of-get this- the Three Musketeers by Alexander Dumas!
AND another Legendary is connected to the Musketeers! The feminine Normal/Psychic Event Pokemon with an alternate Normal/Fighting Forme is the Constant Melody Pokemon. Equivalent to Constanza, Dartacan's financé. The original forme has a music sheet green hair (?) and the alternate has it tucked like an orange turban. In both formes it has a black dress.
Other random stuff:
Ghost/Fire is a Candle that evolves into a Lantern and then into a spider-shaped Sconce.
Ground electric fish based on a solaidae. Dark type Vulture 2 step.

This is the latest stuff by Pokéxperto; no artworks yet though. 598: Steel Platform Pokémon. A spiky steel platform with three grass arms going up and ending in steel maces. Grass / Steel Type.
599: Gear. 600: Gear + Another big gear behind. 601: Gear + Big gear behind + Small gear at bottom + Platform. No Brainer Pokemon of V Gen.
602: Small Fish, white color. 603: Small Lamprey Pokémon. 604 Big Lamprey Pokémon. Green/Blue color and round mouth. All Pure Electric Type. #598 is evolved form of the spiky ball I guess.

Hmm. They have a point. Why would they be the only pages with a different numbering system? To add to the evidence of both sides, this scan would be real following that logic, wouldn't it? And it contains the second pig. (By the way, that page recommends picking the pig at the start of the game given that the second Gym Leader uses Normal-type Pokémon) Shit no, niggaz. Nothing's gonna keep me from choosing Smugleaf ;D
