I like that the baby swan looks like a duck- are you not familiar with the story of the Ugly Duckling? I'm actually asking- you might not be given where you live. Also, the centipede is based on the arthropleura. This was a centipede that grew up to eight feet long. That terrifies me. Oh man! The Legendaries all look cool! Serebii has the sprites now.

Yeah, it's pretty popular everywhere. And it's the kind of thing they'd do at Game Freak anyway, so I think you may be right. So the third dragon is really Dragon/Ice. I'm curious about its species name and moves.

I am looking at the sprites at Serebii. I like all starters' forms except for the water final form. It looks nothing like a samurai! I really like the psychic/flying bat with the heart nose the best! It is so adorable in both forms!! The tadpole looked ugly-cute but the final form is kinda ugly-ugly, what with the black bumps all over its body. The cotton Pokemon reminds me of an enemy I saw in Super Mario Galaxy 2... it was that plant-like enemy that spins around. But its evolution looks cuter! It looks like a sheep! I love the bug/rock hermit crab, especially its evolution! It looks like it has a whole stratum on its back! The Nazca Bird Pokemon looks weird but it is not as bad as the garbage bag Pokemon's evolution. It looks disgusting just like a real garbage bag. I really like the electric lamprey! It really looks dangerous enough with that sucker mouth but add electric powers AND the Levitate ability and you got pretty much an unstoppable beast.

Qu, Pokémon #647 looks like a fourth musketeer. Look at its type and it's also part Fighting, and same ability as the trio.

Ahh, see... I pictured this grass cotton sheep Pokemon to be a brown sheep-like creature standing on its two legs and its green curls on both sides of its head are its horns. The white cotton on its back should be self-explanatory.

Your right, Johan. Plus, it's smaller than the Musketeers- D'artagnan was a protegee of sorts.

What's up with 641, 642 and 645? Different forms posted as numbers or some lame Final Fantasy recolouring shit?
All in all good gen with plenty of weirdo's. 513, 527, 556, 566, 589, 596 and 604 are my favs so far. (list!! sorry)
Also the final legendary is totally Shockwave

The three you mentioned are three Pokemon based on Ryujin, (AKA Raiden, Raijin), Japanese God of Thunder. Yeah, they are three Pokemon that look like pallete swaps. In their defesne, they apparently represent different forms of Ryujin that are distinct in abilities and personality. So this makes sense for a Japanese fellow. Not so much for us.

They're as different to each other as the three pixies were in the last generation, so *shrugs*
The most interesting thing is that the pure Flying-type Pokémon did happen. For the move-savvy, a common question is what would happen if it were given the move Roost, which is meant to remove the Flying type from the user during 1 turn.

Thanks for that, Koopaul. I was curious. I'll find your Western influenced Pokemon and update it too.
Charizard (based off Western dragons) Diglett (based off of Whac-A-Mole) Dugtrio (same as above) Kadabra (based off of Uri Geller's bending spoons and has Zener Card markings on it's body) Alakazam (based of of Uri Geller) Rapidash (based off of Unicorns) Hitmonlee (Based off of the Blemyes) Mr. Mime (based on Mimes) Lapras (based off of the Loch Ness monster) Dragonite (based off of Western dragons) Natu (inspired by Native Americans) Xatu (inspired by Native Americans and the Totem Pole) Murkrow (based on the Western witch) Girafarig (original design suggests it was based off of Pushmipullyu) Delibird (based on Santa Claus) Houdour (based off of Hell Hounds) Houndoom (same as above)\ Smeargle (based off of French painters) Honchkrow (based off of La Cosa Nostra dons) Mime Jr. (based off of European clowns) Victini (Partially based on the Manhattan Project) Baokki (Partially based off of Elvis Aron Presley) Hiyakki (Partially based on Rastafarinism) Shinpora (Based on the Nazca Lines) Desumasu & Desukan (Based off of Egyptian sarcophagi) Rankurusu (Based off of the sperm Homonculus theory) Koaruhi & Swanna (May be based off of Hans Christian Anderson's the Ugly Duckling story) Kobauron (Based off of Athos from Alexander Dumas' The Three Musketeers) Terekion (Based off of Portos from Dumas' ....) Birijion (Based off of Aramis from ....) Kerudio (May be based off of D'artagnan from ....) Melodia (Based off of D'artagnan's fiancee Constance.) That's about 34. Pretty good.

I concur. Even those with pretty bad/average Stats (for sweeping) are awesome design-wise.
I guess I'll list the ones I liked (Design-wise): - Jaroda (Design finally grew onto me) - Futachimaru (Freaking awesome pose, dude) - Yanakki - Gigaiasu - Kokoromori - Gamageroge - Dageki - Pendoraa - Warubiaru - Iwaparesu - Shinpora - Desukan - Abagoora - Zoroark (no, seriously?) - Mebukijka (Winter form being the coolest) - Pururiru (Surprisingly, I didn't like it's evolution) - Denchura (Awesome Typing, great stats... and it's a freakin' spider that shoot bolts of electricity!) - Gigigear - Shibirudon (PLEASE learn Agility) - Shanderaa - Agirudaa - Kurimugan - Goruggo - Kirikizan - Wargle - Sazando (Arguably my favorite pokemon this generation) - Reshiram (The design sure has grown onto me) - Zekrom (I like this one more than Reshiram, but my friend called it before me, and I got dibs last time in 4G with Dialga, so it was only fair to let him choose first) - Genosekuto (Ok, I'm interested in that thing's story)
Just look at that long list! Of course, there are others that I like, but not because of design, but because of good/great Stats, like Aakeosu, Nattorei and Ononokusu.
And of course there are some that I just really don't like or plain despise, but that number is quite low this Gen. One would be Hihidaruma, and its stats are pretty epic, but I still hate its design. It is possible that it is my least loved pokemon this Generation.
Can't wait to get my hands on my Black Version. Damn Japanese people for getting it months before us...

One thing I am very happy about is the number of multi-headed Pokemon. Something that has declined over the years.
I must say I feel there is a stage missing between 588 and 589.
