So hopefully every one of you who has any interest in being creative has gone out and grabbed WarioWare D.I.Y. and has started churning out games.
The WarioWare D.I.Y. NinDB Challenge is a place to get together several ideas and create microgames based on those ideas. We can then share them amongst ourselves.
Rules
1. When submitting ideas, be as broad as possible with your idea to allow for as much creativity as possible. For example, suggest a game title rather than specific areas of a game. Or suggest a character name, rather than what that character will be doing.
2. Ideally (being that this is NinDB) ideas should be based on Nintendo games, but don't let that stop you submitting ideas for third party games or other geek-culture references!
3. If you are creating games, make sure to also post your Friend Codes for WarioWare D.I.Y. and/or D.I.Y. Showcase. You can share games between both of these.
So... start pumping out some ideas!

I've got 2 Nintendo-based games almost ready to be exported, I'm just getting a few things modified (I got some feedback on them, so I'm currently fixing them). I'll be posting my WarioWare D.I.Y. and my D.I.Y. Showcase Friend Codes on JN's Friend Code thread for WarioWare D.I.Y.
A question, Fryguy. You think you could record my Microgames for me? I'd like to start putting them on my Youtube Channel (which only has one video, and it is +4 years old >_>'). I have no form of recording videos in my house, so I'm kind of lost there.
So, can ya? <.<'

I'll need to have your games transferred via Showcase until my wifi security settings have been amended to work with the DSi.

Glad to see this initiative! Let's squeeze this game as much as we can.

So far I have created the following "Frytendo" games:
Mario Land (based on Super Mario Land) Mario and Tatanga start moving up and down. Shoot Tatanga to win. Music: Excerpt from "Mario GB" record
Yoshi (based on Yoshi puzzle game) Tap all the enemy blocks to clear the path between the egg halves so Baby Yoshi will hatch. Music: Random 8-bit composer theme (Needs actual music)
THIEF!! (based on The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening) The prices in the shop are outrageous! The shopkeeper is turning around, so when he isn't looking, tap the "Run" button to escape out the door with the item. Music: Link's Awakening - Shop
I have some other ideas I'm working on, although I'm not sure how possible these will be yet:
Kirby's Adventure Kirby is sucking. Tap all the Star Blocks to free all the trapped enemies for Kirby to eat.
Shin Onigashima This one is a little ambitious... tap the right options on the menu to escape the Oni. The idea is that there are two levels to the menu, and a 50/50 chance of the correct answer changing. I've not yet worked out how I can get this all to work.
Devil World You control Tamagon on the bottom half of the screen while the Devil sends walls moving around. This one is also a little ambitious but I think it'll be possible with some playing around.

Anything is possible with I've only got two nintendo based micro-games right now.

Fry they give you some nice tutorials at the Dojo, they teach you how to get something to have a 50% chance of appearing.

I'm hoping to recieve the game on my birthday (tomorrow!)
The only game ideas I've had are: *One where you're a pirate ship fending off an attacking alien ship, and its all about the angle of your cannon *Some sort of tribute to Streets of Rage. Don't know yet about that one. Any ideas would be helpful.

Fry they give you some nice tutorials at the Dojo, they teach you how to get something to have a 50% chance of appearing. Indeed I went through all those on day 1, and the Yoshi and Link's Awakening microgames already have a 1/4 chance of something changing based on a random element. I was planning on implementing a 1/2 chance to the Shin Onigashima microgame, but sadly that project was way too ambitious - there just weren't enough switches, AI blocks or graphics memory for what I had in mind. I've pared it down to a basic menu-based game, added the "Oni Theme" music (which was easy enough to compose) and finished it late last night. The Kirby's Adventure microgame is also nearly finished. I only need to do Kirby's graphics, install a random element to change what Kirby transforms into at the end of the game, and write the music. I don't know if you've heard the music in that game... it's awfully hard to replicate My Devil World plan wasn't possible. Again, not enough switches or graphics memory, plus the lack of "or" statements. I will just have to come up with another idea based on it.

I don't have the game and I don't know if I will ever buy it. I am happy to hear that the game creation is supposed to be very, very easy to undestand though.
But I do have a game idea.
- Inspried by the discussion about Samus Aran's beauty mark in the M:OM thread have a game about placing Samus's beauty mark on her face in the correct place. (or alternative version, having 4 pictures of Samus's face appear and having to pick the right one).

I'm wondering if a simplified Picross game is possible I just completed the game creation lessons and unlocked the Dojo. I'm also going to experiment with records!

You probably could do a very simplified Picross game. It's something I've considered, but I'm not sure how it would be best achieved.

From what you guys are saying, it sounds like there's a lot of limitations. Is it just tapping commands, or can you use stylus-dragging motions? Cuz my pirate+alien idea relies on a dragging motion to set the cannon angle.

Yeah, you can only use tapping commands. Think of it as a maker of games for the original WarioWare for Game Boy Advance with tapping being like an A button that saves you scrolling.
