Alas, I couldn't watch any of today's matches because last time, one of our clients got annoyed at us watching the penalties between Paraguay and Japan x-D (horrible person!!). But I did follow them on the radio and those were the most exciting matches of the tournament right after USA's!! I'm happy Netherlands won! And the match between Uruguay and Ghana was even more incredible! If you guys can watch reruns, go ahead and do it So, Netherlands and Uruguay advance to the semi-finals ensuring their place as two of this World Cup's best 4 teams. I doubt any of the two will be fourth because I feel Paraguay and Spain aren't that tough... Who knows, though Maybe Argentina beats Germany tomorrow!

Brazil's out, huh? Interesting. This is looking to be rather different than most years.

This is a summary of how Uruguay was able to advance to the semifinals for today's match against Netherlands. They barely made it!

Uruguay lost to Netherlands 2-3. Although to be honest, Netherlands could have done better. Why losing that final goal at 92' when they could have kept it at 1-3?
Congratulations, Shrikeswind, you've finally supported the right team.

Oh, England lost? I wondered why all those World Cup crisp flavours were suddenly removed from the little newsagent across the street.

I was too tired and pretty much just went to bed and slept when the game was on.
'Pretty much' because I woke up a couple of times by people screaming like their legs were infected and fireworks being launched everywhere. Pretty good indicator we didn't lose. Woot!

Here's hoping my 1-game streak goes to 2, and that the Dutch whoop ass in Johannesburg. Knowing my luck, however, God's just building me up.

Germany is currently leading 1-0. All the time they have been acting big, displaying high goal differences. Looks like they are determined to show Paul the Octopus who's the boss.
There is still some time left. Will Spain get their revenge?
Darn, Wikipedia lied to me. The octopus was right after all. España won, goodbye to Deutschland (still a chance for 3rd place). The final will be Nederland versus España.
