Last day of the GoG DRM free summer sale, lots of repeat deal from the past days.
Rumor has it that the Steam Summer sale will begin soon as well.
Also the Steam version of Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing Transformed got a new character and 75% discount.

Also Steam trading cards for buying sale related stuff . . .

Still carried away by Steam Summer Sales? www.gog.com/promo/atari_weekend_promo_120713GoG has a 65% off sale on Atari games! Like Rollercoster Tycoon series! And great obscure games like Star Control 1 & 2, Moonbase Commander and Outlast! (Wikipedia them fool!) Most of these game when going on sale previously (like the recent no DRM summer sale) would have been 50% off, so this would be a really good oppunity to buy them (I know I will). And don't worry most of those game aren't avalible on Steam anyway, and will someone else please reply to this thread? Does anyone care anymore?

Bahaha, I'm actually trying to stop spending money on these bargains, because I still have a humongous backlog of games I bought about two summer sales prior (and I'm doing a pretty shitty job, having bought 3 more games already, but unnnngh these BARGAINS)
GoG has a nice list of games there, but I pretty much already have all I care... wait a minute, is that KKND2?? Will not buy will not buy will not buy will not oh damnit bought

will someone else please reply to this thread? Does anyone care anymore? I care, but I usually see the deals directly on GoG. I don't like to have a backlog, so I avoid buying more than I intend to play in the near future. I completed my "Library of Myst" during the Summer sale, so I need to go through those first (or at least enough of them where I feel like I played my money's worth ). Quite frankly, Uru is not that great (and I could've played the online version for free anyway at mystonline.com). In fact, I could've just gotten Myst V for $4.99, but also getting Uru and Myst: Masterpiece Edition were only like $1.47 more, so... I still fell right into their trap, didn't I?

I'm getting a new laptop and a Steam membership soon, because I don't plan to buy either the PS4 or Xbox One consoles, and I'll need my Valve and Bethesda magic one way or another.
My wallet's gonna hate me.

I watched it.
First, I giggled like a schoolgirl.
Then the tears began to roll. I'm gonna be sucked right into this.

Amazingly enough, SSS had to be the first Steam sale in recent memory in which I chose to not buy anything due to backlog (though it was very tempting) Today's Steam daily deal is Recettear - An Item Shop's Tale for 75% off (and also 75% off games made by the same company, Carpe Fulgur). Avalible for the next 42 hours. store.steampowered.com/app/70400/Capitalism Ho!

Good Friends Bundle on Steam! Inspired by the DLC for Runner 2, it's bundle that contains Runner2 (and DLC), Cave Story+, Machinarium, Portal 2, Psyhchonauts and Super Meat Boy, all for the low price of $24.99 ($57 off) store.steampowered.com/sub/29669/(If Spulunky were on Steam, it probably would be part of this bundle but it's only a few days from release ironically enough)

Apparantly someone at EA has a heart and now worked with the Humble Bundle team to have a Origin/EA humble bundle, that also has Steam keys (for the EA games on Steam) It's pay what you want by the way . . . (paying higher than the average gets you more games) www.humblebundle.com/

Wing Commander: Academy is now on GOG.com. Unlike most Wing Commander games, Academy has no story or campaign mode. It's simply a simulator based on the Wing Commander II engine in which you can edit your own missions. It does have some pre-built missions and an arcade-style Gauntlet mode. And I can't quite remember, but I think you can trade customized missions with other people. It's an interesting oddity. I always felt it was made because WC2 is the only game in the series without a built-in simulator, but Academy is more versatile than any of them. Still, you can get any of the other full WC games (including a bundle of 1 & 2) for the same price, so I wouldn't give it a high priority.

New free game on GOG to celebrate their fifth anniversary: a horizontal shmup called Stargunner. It's permanently free, so it's not a timed deal or anything. Just get it whenever.

Privateer 2: The Darkening is now on GOG.com. I've actually never played this one, so I'm excited to see it available. It tends to get mixed reactions from Wing Commander fans. It's not really connected to the original Privateer, and in fact it wasn't originally supposed to be a sequel to it, or even part of the WC universe, but rather a standalone game just called The Darkening. It does make use of FMV like other WC games of the time, and features actors like John Hurt and Christopher Walken. EDIT: I forgot to mention they're also having a Wing Commander promo where all the games are 50% off (even individually). It does not include Privateer 2, however.

Another free game on GOG: Flight of the Amazon Queen. It's a point-and-click adventure from 1995. Looks kinda cool. I wonder if it's anything like Broken Sword.
