I would imagine UBI Soft lost the license; it was a graphic novel or something of the sort if I remember right. This is correct. XIII is a very popular Belgian graphic novel series written and drawn by Jean Van Hamme and William Vance. There was a movie based on it released not all that long ago.

For some reason, XIII, the old cel shaded FPS, is being removed from GOG's catalog in two days (if you already bought it, it will remain on your account for re-download). So, if you're interested in getting it, now's the time (especially since it's on sale). Always wanted to play this game and this has convinced me . . . Runs off to get wallet . . .

GOG has just added Leisure Suit Larry: Greatest Hits and Misses, which includes all of the Larry games except for "Love For Sail." Plus they threw in the VGA remake of the first game and the original text game that inspired the series, Softporn Adventure. Also, as this is the 500th game GOG has added to their catalog, they're having a contest where you can be one of 500 people to win any game on GOG worth 9.99. Also, if you're a fan of Leisure Suit Larry, be sure to check out this episode of the All Gen Gamers podcast in which they interview creator Al Lowe. It's really fascinating and funny.

Speaking of Larry, an enhanced remake, similar to the Monkey Island Special Editions, was just greenlit with the latest batch of Steam Greenlight games. I'm happy about that one.

John Romero's infamous Daikatana has been added to GOG.com. This ambitious failure used such tasteful ad slogans such as "suck it down" and "John Romero is about to make you his bitch." Remember when "GOG" stood for Good Old Games? At least it only costs $5.99.

Well, here's some shocking news. System Shock 2, one of the most requested games on GOG, is coming exclusively to the service tomorrow! ( Source) System Shock 2 was designed by Ken Levine, and is considered a spiritual-predecessor to the BioShock series.

HOLY F***ING S*** IT"S REAL!
Age of Empires II HD Edition!
Microsoft today announced Age of Empires II HD Edition, a reimagining of the 1999 real-time strategy game. With Ensemble Studios closed, work on the updated version is being done by Hidden Path Entertainment (Defense Grid series, Counter Strike: Global Offensive).
Age of Empires II HD Edition will launch on April 9 exclusively through Steam across the world. Gamers won't need to wait that long to play, however, as those who prepurchase (at a 10 percent discount) will be able to jump in April 5.
Age of Empires II HD Edition includes every single-player campaign from the Age of Kings original and the Conquerors expansion, totaling 18 in all. In addition, gamers can challenge other Steam players through the game's online mode.
According to Microsoft, Age of Empires II HD Edition has been remastered for high-resolution displays at 1080p. It also includes an "enhanced visual engine" sporting improved textures for terrain, water and fire, and ambient lighting effects.
Steamworks features for Age of Empires II HD Edition include achievements, leaderboards, matchmaking, and cloud support. In addition, gamers can share user created content through the Steam Workshop.
Lastly, Microsoft revealed the minimum system requirements for Age of Empires II HD Edition today. They are listed below, along with the game's debut trailer.
Minimum System Requirements: Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 Pro Steam Software Platform 900x600 minimum display resolution Direct X 9 Capable GPU 1.2GHz CPU 1GB RAM 2GB HDD

Ohhh fancy
Never played AoEII before, but I spent a lot of time on the first one. Cheating my way through skirmish, cruising the sportscar and nuking all the other AI players to kingdom come. Ahhh the good ol' days...
The Steam Workshop and multiplayer support makes it very tempting to buy it though, if I can convince some other local dudes to get it. I almost want to pre-purchase it just to support them because this is how all rereleases should be handled.

For today only, GOG.com is selling The Last Express for 60% off. The Last Express is a point-and-click adventure created by Jordan Mechner of Prince of Persia fame, with the hook that the game plays out out in semi-real-time. That is, unlike most adventure games that wait for you to solve puzzles at your own leisure, the world of The Last Express moves forward with or without you. I realize it might not be for everyone, but if it looks interesting to you, I highly recommend it! It's one of my favorites!

I'll admit I saw "60% off" and thought, "it could be cheaper", and than realised that most Steam games I'm happly brought were probably at 50% off. So, yeah I brought it. Still haven't played my first GoG purchase of XIII though or the other free games I'm gotten from them.

Several EA games are 60% off for GOG.com's weekend promo. They include all of the Ultimas, Wing Commanders, Dungeon Explorers, Populouses, Crusaders, and so on. Thinking of snagging a couple of these, myself.

If GOG.com needed more of anything, it was 2D shmups. All they really had was Tyrian 2000, which is good but freeware anyway, and Raptor, which doesn't look too interesting. Well, they just added Raiden Legacy, which includes the original Raiden and all three Raiden Fighters games! (Raiden II is conspicuously absent.) I'm really surprised and happy to see this on GOG.com!

The original Torchlight is free on GOG.com until Thursday, June 20, at 12:59PM GMT. They've also started this year's #noDRM Summer Sale, in which most games on the site are 50% off until July 7, with additional sales also happening until then.
