Holy smokes! That's great. I'll definently throw iin a dollar for Mighty Switch Force. Might upgrade based on the extra games. None of the ones right now grab me too much, barring Steamworld which I've already got on Steam. Great game tho.
None really seemed that interesting to me either. I put in a dollar, but so far Mighty Switch Force is grating on my ears, Dave is only fun for a minute or two, and I haven't tried Guacamelee yet, but I hear it's pretty dumb, but still fun.

If you're interested, there's currently an Ys bundle on GOG that includes I & II Chronicles, Oath in Felghana and Origins for only US$14.97 (70% off). I think it also applies to the individual titles. Only lasts until tomorrow.

Also, all previous sales are on sale again for the last 24 hours.
I grabbed a few good old games for myself. First I got Astebreed, a Japanese indie shmup that actually reminds me just a bit of Sin & Punishment 2.
Also, Volgarr the Viking, another indie game directly inspired by the '80s arcade game Rastan.
Finally, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, the last Falcom game on GOG I dragged my feet on getting because it sounded like everything that annoys me in JRPGs wrapped up into one big JRPG. But I'll give it a chance.
I guess I also got Sim City 2000 for free, but I haven't redeemed it.
Between this and Splatoon, my wallet needs to go into lockdown for a while to recover.
Little surprised this game is even being released for free, seems like it would have been better to wait at least another year or so. Playstation versions came out less than a year ago and the Wii U version isn't even out yet.

Whoa, Grandia II just got released on GOG and Steam!
If you don't know, Grandia II was an RPG that originally came out on the Dreamcast (15 years ago this month), and was praised for its innovative combat system. It was also kind of in competition with Skies of Arcadia, which also released around that time. Never took the opportunity to play it myself (I chose Arcadia), but I've been kinda curious about it.
Humble Bundle Store is having a sale and is giving Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones away for FREE (until August 31st).
SI was actually on sale for over a week on the Wii U eShop and that just ended this week, I think there gonna be some upset people over this decision.
Even I considered buying that version, but wanted to buy Scram Kitty instead because it was going to be on sale. And then I found out SK wasn't even available to buy on that eShop and I probably would have brought SI2 and then this giveaway happens.

Nester the Lark: Hello, NinDB world! Post your shouts here! (But be careful not to wake the neighbors. )

nocturnal YL: Guys, guys! I can't believe what I found in Zelda 1! The game features an Elimination Mode that for some reason not many talked about! I wonder if it's fun? (Don't actually try it.)
Jul 23, 2020 8:32:38 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: Hey, I can edit shoutbox posts! This is already better than Twitter!

Nester the Lark: It seems like Cadence of Hyrule should be more popular than it is. Are people put off by the rhythm aspect? Or the randomly-generated maps?
Jul 24, 2020 14:01:59 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: ↑ Might warrant its own thread, but I think mixing rhythm and other genres usually resuls in gameplay too difficult for many. I can't handle it well either, judging from my scores in Dedede's Drum Dash.
Jul 24, 2020 22:46:56 GMT -5
nocturnal YL: ↑ For me personally, it simply hasn't been considered. It's a download-only game (until now) from a series I'm unfamiliar with and didn't feel like trying out.
Jul 24, 2020 23:02:40 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Ironically, I did create a thread for Cadence of Hyrule, but then deleted it thinking there wouldn't be any discussion on it. Maybe I'll go ahead and make a new one.

Shrikeswind: Something to bear in mind about the shoutbox if you’re not already aware: It doesn’t show up on the mobile version of the forums. This shouldn’t be a major problem, but it can make it difficult to get into discussions for mobile visitors.
Jul 26, 2020 1:40:18 GMT -5
Shrikeswind: Also the more obvious character limit issues, and the format not really being conducive to longer-term discussion. It’s useful but limited; threads definitely still have their place.

Shrikeswind: (Honestly, Proboards mobile is pretty bad in general, but...)
Jul 26, 2020 1:46:07 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: Not sure if this works on all devices, but you can force the desktop version of the forum by scrolling all the way to the bottom and clicking the "Desktop" link at the lower right.
Jul 26, 2020 8:41:58 GMT -5
Shrikeswind: I’m aware. I’m typing this from my phone. I’m just pointing out that, for people who aren’t aware or who may be casually checking in on their phone, the shoutbox won’t be visible on
Jul 26, 2020 22:04:05 GMT -5
Shrikeswind: Is there a Discord for NinDB, by the way? It’s very popular with them there young’ns these days, so it might help activity.
Jul 26, 2020 22:07:47 GMT -5
Nester the Lark: There is no NinDB Discord. There was a brief discussion of it a few years ago, but nothing ultimately came of it. I rarely use Discord, myself.
Jul 27, 2020 8:58:28 GMT -5
Shrikeswind: Hm. Seems like it might be a good idea if activity picks up. Not to be a pessimist but I do have my doubts that'll happen though.
Jul 29, 2020 3:00:10 GMT -5
Shrikeswind: Okay not a Nintendo topic but I kinda need to talk about this because I just learned it and it's a thing so bleh.
Aug 2, 2020 23:44:57 GMT -5
Shrikeswind: You remember Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame, right? So apparently, 5 year old me was incapable of discerning male and female in non-humans, because *apparently* there's a female gargoyle, and the goat's a boy.
