Aw crap, I know I've heard that before. I'ma guess Paper Mario 2, but I'm fairly certain it's not that. XD

I'm not 100% sure, as I haven't heard the song before, but I'll guess Super Paper Mario.

Stylistically it reminded me of Paper Mario, but as I haven't played that one, it was a good guess, I suppose. I'll keep up the written clues. Clue 1 - This NES game began as a licensed title of one of Japan's biggest properties, but switched to Chinese mythology when it came to America. Guess the Game!

Another question for you.
Three unlikely franchises unite for a even more unlikely game where only one of these franchises have had extensive experience in this genre...although the second has made some lame attempts in the past. Two of them are owned by the same company.
Guess the Game!...if I'm not being too vague.

Sounds like DreamMix TV World Fighters to me. The only thing it did better than Smash was giving Snake actual alt skins.

Nope - there's far more than three franchises in DreamMix TV. Not a bad guess, though!
A clue - It's something more recent!

I wanna say Mario Sports Mix. 3 franchise - Mario, Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest - two of which are by Square Enix. Mario has extensive history in Sports games, Final Fantasy has a little thanks to Mario Basketball and I guess Chocobo Racing. And its more recent than Dream Mix.
I could be wrong, though.
EDIT: I saw another game that could be it whilst I was bumming my way around wikipedia looking to see if there were any Final Fantasy sport games. I won't guess it since I sort of 'cheated' to get it, though. Plus I could easily be wrong anyways.
