Please post any and all cameos found in Nintendo 3DS games here.
Mario Kart 3DS
Wuhu Island / Wii Sports Theme In pre-release footage, one of the stages is set on Wuhu Island from the Mii series. The music is a remix of the Wii Sports theme. Submitted by MEGABYTE

Anything counts. AR cards, 3DS built-in software, etc. etc.

Anything counts. AR cards, 3DS built-in software, etc. etc. And just in time too, the other AR cards have been revealed! If the image doesn't show up it's just the: ? block Mario Link (Spirit Tracks Toon Link art) Kirby Samus (Other M) Pikmin (red, blue, yellow, Pikmin 1 art). Saucccce

Hooray for generic stock artwork! The AR games had better be worth the horrible cards.

Correction: That Pikmin artwork is from the second game, not the first. Which reminds me, if they're continuing to use Pikmin in more promotional material and stuff like that, then where's the third one already?

Would the fact that Pilotwings resort takes place on Wu-Hu island count as a cameo?

Well, it is PilotWings Resort after all, haha. More like a crossover, I'd say.

That's difficult to call. It's not reeeally a cameo, as it's a Mii game set on Wuhu Island. If anything, the Pilotwings name is more of a cameo in the Mii universe here...
But it's going to be listed with the Pilotwings games, so it'll get a mention, but perhaps not as a cameo. Kinda in the same way I don't list every appearance of Miis as cameos.

F*** if I can tell about the Pikmin art, but your probably right. And the 3rd's probably still in development, they probably just need a new idea/concept for it or something. (unless they just want a clone of Pikmin 2) Your seen the AR cards, now see the AR!

Are they animated or just like "trophies"? I note Kirby and Mario are quite far away from their own cards.

I think there like trophies but you can use button inputs to make them change to a few different poses (for photo taking) Considering how small the Pikmin and Kirby are could be a factor as why they AR versions are away from their cards. There's not much info/footage about AR at this time.

Hey that's awesome. I wonder why they invented a soccer Game & Watch game with weird looking G&W characters rather than using established characters. Very bizarre.

Looks like you might be able to COMBINE AR cards together! With Nintendogs + cats AR functionality allows for a dog to appear with AR and then using one of the character AR cards gives the AR dog a corresponding hat. Image sources.Kirby hat! Since the images are kind of big I'll link them (non pun intended with the next image) Toon Link hair/hat.Mario hat.Samus's helmet.Pikmin hat (blue with bud) EDIT: Footage of the AR characters is up. Confirms that they are trophy like, but with button presses can change poses (sometimes making their game related sounds in the process), and that they can be rotated, shrunk/enlarged, and moved away from their own AR cards At around 1:19 in the video the background music plays a short section from the SMB theme. Another cameo I'm spotted is in the Streetpass puzzle, (at 0:23) the puzzle image appear to be from (puzzle answer spoiler) the cover art of New Super Mario Bros Wii (it's clearly the pink Yoshi wearing yellow shoes) (spoiler end)
