Super Mario Bros. 3 + 3DS = Super Mario Bros. 3DS?
Sounds like it will be a 3D version of Super Mario Bros. 3.

Well, along with that addition, it is something completely new overall.

I wish they would put some Sunshine elements in there. I kinda miss NPCs saying more than just "Press A!"

The summer in Sunshine... I know that travelling in space was very awesome, but summery feeling I get when I did play Sunshine was just pure bliss.
I wonder though, SMB3DS concept that Parrothead said back there sounds still too nostalgiafilled craziness. Evolve the Mario-world Nintendo! Don't tell me yer out of ideas...
Though I'm still waiting for the precious Super Leaf.

As far as Yoshi goes, I'm hoping he shows up too.
But...I'd like for him to appear provided he actually does something. They flaunted his inclusion in NSMBWii: He was in the initial press conference, there's three of them on the box. He was made out to be a big deal.
Then you actually play the game, in which he doesn't carry into other levels and appears so few times it's entirely possible to forget Yoshi is even in it.

They did a good job with Yoshi in Galaxy 2.

^ That they did. The levels that did feature him used him to his fullest.
Another thing with these games recently is Luigi's playable presence. He certainly has been getting better treatment lately.
NSMB DS: Just hold L+R when you start the game to use him! It can even be done before you beat the game once.
SMG1: 120 stars as Mario first, and now here's to Luigi's own adventure (the double of him notwithstanding, pfft). The bad traction is a setback, but the high triple jump works wonders.
NSMBW: Sure, he's Player 2 (this game is clearly made with multiplayer in mind), but you can still use just him in the levels while continually throwing Mario around into harm's way, particularly if he has a lot of lives.
SMG2: Before you beat the game, you can use him in certain levels. But after that (on 70 stars), just go into the L door on the back of the Starship Mario and voila! I'm using him a lot more than Mario (his high jumps also come in handy for the Green Star Hunt).
So yeah, Luigi's a hero again, even if he is sharing the spotlight with Mario (They're both still two sides of the same coin). It's safe to say that he'd have a good chance of being playable again in Super Mario 3DS.

More importantly, Luigi was the real star of the Mario & Luigi RPGs. Now Luigi is the comedy element. His bizarre changes in SSB Brawl also helped cement this reputation.

Way better than Mario's crappy-just-jump-over-it Final Smash.

Way better than Mario's crappy-just-jump-over-it Final Smash. Really? I always found Luigi's slowly-spreading circle much easier to avoid. XD

Throw em... to the voiddd----Luigi though is one of my of my favorites in Brawl- why there can't be more funny videogame heroes like 'im. But what you're expecting from this game? I'd wish they evolve some ideas, even though it might be VERY hard after what we've seen in SMG-games.

SMG1 and SMG2 don't look particularly difficult for me. Some stages are, but they're nowhere close to being DKCR or YIDS, or those "difficult platformer" genre browser games I often came across. So if difficulty is what they are aiming for, there's still a huge room of improvement. The thing about Luigi... well, it does make a negative protrayal of him in Brawl, despite what DOJO!! said. I think the whole "inferior at the surface, powerful in actual abilities" thing started around early~mid GC/GBA generation since Melee made fun of his "always second player" position... oh wait, it should be earlier than that; Paper Mario did protray him that way. It actually made its way to mainstram Mario later on in SMG1 (Luigi has to be rescued a few times) and New SMB Wii (some Super Skill movies made fun of him) later on. I don't think it's a bad thing (it did actually make Luigi more well-known), but this thing about making fun of him could get old soon.

I think Horsetail was saying it might be difficult to evolve the gameplay further than Galaxy has, not talking about the game's difficulty.
