Yes, you heard Mii me.
Seeing as those Miis tend to go around quite a lot with Nintendo as of late (and taking over, at that!), there could be a chance for them to show up as playable fighters.
But, here is the catch: They're not like the other characters. And how? Customizable.
How do you set them up as customizable fighters then? Let's say, you'd start by going into the Options menu that has a feature to pick out one Mii in your Mii Channel (or whatever the next system uses for them), and then assign A-button movesets and individual B-button special attacks to them, taken from other characters.
Let's say for example, mine's moves would be set up like this:
A-button moves: Fox Standard B special: Mario (fireballs) Side B special: Link (boomerang) Up B special: King Dedede (jump attack) Down B special: Yoshi (ground pound)
Basically, think Emerl from Sonic Battle. And to prevent overpowering and the like, there's a limit as to what kind of moves you can assign to each Mii character. When you're on the character screen, press the same button to change character colors to change to the Miis that you saved with their custom movesets.
What's more? Maybe an extra/side adventure mode (without a story) that can center around them. As they press on through it, they could meet the other Nintendo characters and learn more moves from them, which you can switch around for your Mii before starting a level.
Along with that, exclusively to this mode, there could be a shop to buy stuff with coins (dropped from enemies sometimes) like several Nintendo-themed outfits and accessories.
That's all I've got down of it and just thought to get this up here. If you're going to add more and fix some things to it, go ahead.

Customizable movesets are a no-no. The whole point of Smash Bros. is the fact that you're playing as Nintendo's greats. If there was a customizable character, everyone would just slap on all the most broken moves and play their Mii for every match.
That said, I'd actually be in favor of Miis being playable provided they had a regular moveset like everyone else. Preferably one based on the swordfighting game from Wii Sports Resort.

I am in favour of Miis being playable in the next Smash, but I think their moveset should be made from their various appearances. Everything from Wii Sports, to Wii Play Motion and beyond should be considered for them.

That'd take up as much precious data space as there are number of playable chracters (you cannot have exact clones for such data), save for the 3D model itself which could be obtained using the system's data. Unless they use double-sided, dual-layer BD-ROM (or better, SSD) for storage, the already-overcompressed data in the most recent Smash Bros would suffer even more. I'd say just turn the whole thing into Wii Fight or something like that. But then again, if we have theoretically infinite storage space (really, just forget about discs and move onto SSDs), this could have been a good idea, but maybe not with custom movesets. With some players this means they're going to make the most broken of custom characters, and the result would be worse than those so-called tournaments now. and then assign A-button molests I lol'd.

Could be cool but it'd probably would result in a mess. Though honestly I wouldn't be surprised if I saw it but with all Miis having the same moveset, just with different appearances depending on which Mii you choose.

I'd like some degree of customization, though not necessarily by mixing special moves.
Maybe more like letting Miis be clones of the Nintendo characters (remember the alloys, polygons, etc.)
Or selectable variations like Sports Mii, Music Mii, Fit Mii, Play Mii, etc.

A Mii would pretty much be a must, in representation of the Wii series of games, which is, whether people like it or not, a major series for Nintendo and make a helluva more sense than Sonic or Snake (no bashing them, just saying). But having the Mii use Nintendo character attack make no sense. Maybe a certain degree of customization, whether it be different Wii series object or stunts to attack/recover, or just superficial things like capes, goggles, hats, etc.

I remember once, before Brawl, at my own site, a bunch of folks submitted Mii as a playable character idea. One was a skin for Mr. G&W, and 2 were standard characters like Mario or Pikachu. I vaguely recall a fourth idea based on expanding the Mr. G&W skin idea, but it was...questionable...since it involved a full-scale revamping of the entire moveset with awkward results.
Honestly, I kinda liked one of the more standard ideas, but I never got around to actually adding it for some reason. PAST ME IS AN IDIOT, I SWEAR. I WILL KILL HIM IF I EVER MEET HIM.
Customization, however? Pretty cool in theory, but practically, it'd be a mess.

Mii games are reaching a point where you could easily set up a Mii-specific moveset. Various sporting equipment to smack around with, Pilotwings jetpack for the recovery jump, hula hoop to clear the area around them (B-Down perhaps?) The only problem is that Miis are by all accounts unspectacular. But hell, if Sakurai could make me love Jigglypuff then I guess anything's possible

The jet pack could easily be the Up-B, and some type of Wii Musical could be the Final Smash. Just stuff like that could easily be applied to a single character...even if the moves WERE customizable at least use original moves to make it stand out.

While I agree that a Mii character should have a moveset of it's own as a playable character, IF they end up adding a fighter editor feature like that I do hope it are customisable Mii's rather then something like customisable multi-men dudes or Robo-Mario Mk. II or whatever
I mean if you're going to add a bland, customisable figure atleast let me attach Mr. T's face on it

Kinda agreeing with Mii's getting their own moveset- but along with what Nocturnal YL said, it woud disappoint lots of people. All Mii's having SAME movesets?
Or you could give them little customisation, but being based on their games...
Uh... no. It wouldn't work. Just no.

But then, if Miis have their customizable movesets, that would bring in a question - whether other characters should have such previlage as well. In Brawl alone, there are a whole lot of moves that I want to see changed (Landmaster *3 lol), and I'd say it's only fair to treat everyone the same.
