What do you mean? They resold us a totally unedited Super Mario All-Stars almost 20 years later with a poor CD and a little booklet! For more money than it would cost to download all four games on the Virtual Console on the same system!
...Oh wait, yeah... That sucked balls.
I guess we got 5 or so Mario games for Happy Mario 20th. Maybe they were disappointed they didn't make a bigger splash for Zelda's 20th.
Happy Donkey Kong 30th and Pokemon 15th everybody!

According to NIntendo's Katsuya Eguchi, the proprietary disc format being used for Wii U holds 25 GB of data, giving it the same capacity as a Blu-ray disc. The system will also support external USB storage.

heard some interesting info about Mario Kart 3DS, someone who played said their was a Donkey Kong Country Returns track, and now from a recent Nintendo post conference ( on right now) they said Retro Studios is helping to co develop the tracks for the game. EDIT: Luigi's Mansion 2 is being made by Next Level Games, and the Game Boy Horror has been replaced by a DS like scanner.

So Pikmin 3 is headed for Wii U now. Good way to wrap it all up. I take back all that insanity I had about it earlier.

Who else liked the Mario & Sonic trailer? I'm not into those games, but still... I loved it. Also... To those lucky owners of a 3DS, I highly recommend watching all 3D trailers you can on the 3DS. Naturally, you can't experience the same with a regular computer or TV screen

I noticed in the video there were some of the little Tiki Tak guys in the DKC track. I guess DKCR finally gave Retro the boost they needed to enter Nintendo's inner-circle!

The name Wii U seems to be getting sort of a negative response, for still using the Wii name, but does anyone not forget the NES to SNES? Or the Xbox to Xbox 360. Or the Playstation to Playstation 2 to Playstation 3 to Playstation Portable to Playstation Vita.

...Still don't like the Wii U name.
With the Wii whatever going on today, Wii U doesn't sound like a new system in the first place. Wii Sports/Party/Fit/whatever, Wii Balance Board, Wii MotionPlus, arrrgh. And then Check Mii Out Channel is for Wii, while New Super Mario Bros Mii is not. I'd be confused if I haven't been following Nintendo news, honestly.
Also, neither "Nintendo Entertainment System", "Xbox" or "PlayStation" have all those... jokes going around with it.

People thought Xbox was a ridiculous name when it was announced. The most common complaint was that it sounded like the name of a sex toy, if I remember correctly. It's been a couple of years since I heard anybody complain about the Wii's name, I thought people had accepted it.

I got over the Wii thing a long time ago, so I don't mind "Wii U". It made me laugh, actually. It's like they held a conference and asked themselves, "How can we take a name like 'Wii' and make it even sillier?" And as a credit to Nintendo's brilliance, they found a way! Seriously, these Romanized Japanese puns are getting out of hand.

You all know how much I kvetch about motion control and other "innovations" that spawned thereof. I associate the Wii with these things, and I would just as soon have put that behind us with a new console name. I'm not bothered by the laziness of the new title (for the same reasons as listed by others) so much as the fact that I like my gaming more...traditional than what Nintendo brought to the table. All "WiiU" makes me think of is how deeply ingrained the "enhanced gaming experience" has become in society.
I'm all for innovation, but I think this is and has been going in the wrong direction. One can innovate gameplay without changing your entire interface.

Ironically, over the last year or so I migrated back to the Wii to avoid motion control. I'm perfectly fine with occasionally having to shake the controller or point it at the screen if it means I can avoid having to play standing up or operate my console by talking to it. And a decent amount of my favourite Wii games have the option for Gamecube control anyway.
