Great thread. Too bad hunting Totaka's Song apparently isn't all that interesting.
I mean, I think it is, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of people interested.
Currently sitting through menus and such on F1 Race for the Gameboy. I'm from Sweden so I will check European versions.
Animal Crossing New Leaf should arrive tomorrow, I will look around a bit there as well. Wish I could have the game already, but tomorrow (14th of June) is the EU release.

I think it's a safe bet that New Leaf's K.K. Song will be in the same place it's always been. Can't know that myself, since my copy hasn't arrived.

I have received a couple of emails about the song's appearance in New Leaf already. It was a pretty safe bet, but apparently it does show up in a few unexpected places. However, the game has only come out here today  |

However, the game has only come out here today Really? City Folk and Wild World had their own non-K.K. appearances, so I suppose it shouldn't be too surprising. Where else does it play? |

Found in Mario Kart 8. Noe that, as the description says, this seems to be a neat nod to the fact that Totaka is Yoshi's voice as well.

I am sure this has been done before but... after seeing how it was hidden in MK8, have people done any looking around crowds, seaguls or the dolphin sound effects in WR64? Seems like if it is hidden in there those might be the most likely ways.

*bump* In Kenkō Ōen Recipe 1000: DS Kondate Zenshū there is a menu where you can enter a password. Not sure what the menu is called as there is a lot of kanji with no furigana, but: I entered とた (tota) and トタケ (totake, probably short for Totakeke?) was a keyword. I don't know for sure if トタケ is actually a word/name of some sort related to food or similar however.  |
