And if there has to be a more fleshed-out adventure mode, all I hope for is that it doesn't come off as insulting like Subspace was.
The execution of the cutscenes was the only decent part, but the insulting aspects of it in particular were:
-The setting (Bland, dry island...thingy. Is it too much to include all the familiar locales and stuff?) -Choice of enemies (Only a few Mario enemies and several pointless ones? Come on, Nintendo has a truckload of enemies at their disposal! Don't waste their chances this time!) -Small selection of bosses (Mmm...yeah) -Overall storyline and flow of it (Not gonna go there now, but you already get me on that one...)

Totally agree, not to mention they put in two (!) original bosses as opposed to two more established Nintendo bosses...

Not to mention the enemies look dumb as shit. Look out for trumpet man! He'll blow you away with his face! And then there was that naked butterfly man straight out of Tron. Who the hell thought that was a good idea? About Toad, he's pretty much in the same boat as Waddle Dee. Playable appearance here 'n there, but still just one of many generic, disposable foot soldiers of the game they're from. You had playable Toads in SMBWii, but they aren't actual characters, just a bunch of generic Toads. Being generic cannon fodder as Peach/Dedede's B-moves kinda makes sense that way. I'd like them to add a 5th Mario fighter though. One: Because at this point Bowser Jr'd make the most sense being a regular Mario villain now (good to know there's more supporters this time around, I love that little rascal), two: because if they do like Brawl and restrict the 3 flagship franchises to have no more fighters then one another it'll mean there's extra space for Tingle and Pichu to pop up Also on Zelda characters: with the newest Zelda going for a more cel-shady look and the OoT remake appearing on 3DS, they might end up making the older Zelda characters all bright n shit while they bring back Young Link to replace that toon. Okay okay, pretty unlikely... or is it?!

1. I doubt the lack of a new Mario character ensures that Tingle and/or Pichu will get in. If anything they'll just update the Zelda characters to look contemporary and Lucario will be replaced by Zoroark or someone.
2. Whether or not there's a second Link in there depends on if the "Toon" sub-series is still kicking around at the time Smash 4 comes out. If it isn't, I can't really see much of a reason to have two Links. Personally I'd rather they just buff regular Link, eliminating the need for an alternative.

Actually I meant that franchises like Pokemon can't have 6 fighters without Mario or Zelda having the same number, to even it out. In that sense a 5th Mario characters means the others can have a 5th too. Ofcourse this is just me looking for weird patterns, which is a pretty silly way of predicting rosters! But puny link's up-B buzzsaw's so much fun!

I always thought the inclusion of Young Link was because of the cherish for the younger depiction of Link in the first Zelda games as stated in his Melee trophy. Then The Wind Waker came out and made him more obligatory with that new graphical style.
Alternatively and perhaps not intentionally, each pair of Links in Melee and Brawl matches the dual timelines that split from Ocarina of Time.
I think if "the Toon series" dies and a new one is made with a child Link, we'll have to keep an eye on it. If nothing is made at all, there's probably still a chance to see Toon Link if Spirit Tracks counts (but please give him his own weapons now, Sakurai-san!).
That being said, I wouldn't mind having just 1 Link.

Sakurai mentions the possible inclusion of a Capcom character (I think we all know who).

If there is, it'll probably Mega Man. His demand was almost as great as Sonic, and everybody bitched and moaned when he didn't get into Brawl.

Ryu sounds like fitting to the universe of SSB very well (with some others) but yeah: I'm also going for Megaman. Robot Master Weapons would go as his A-attacks, maybe?

May I say it? I want more than one Capcom character *_*
According to IGN, that was just part of an interview that will be fully published next week.
EDIT: Actually, this week, as the posting date was June 8...

My bet's on Mega Man, but that's it really. While we're at it, let's take a look at the Assist Trophies: - Simple long-standing Mario baddie who surprsingly also got an enemy role, and works fine here
- Mario character who will forever be shafted into only spin-off titles
- A Metroid itself, which works fine, but could also fill an enemy role
- Another Mario enemy (or two of them), but I'd rather they appear regularly instead of pixelated
- The metallic turd of an Andross as opposed to the N64 version which would have been better
- The most idiotic Zelda character ever, who deserves to be attacked instead of Starfy
- The starfish himself, but if he proves more relevant to Nintendo someday...
- The Animal Crossing one, who hinders and not helps
- The other big guy from F-Zero, but alas...
- A pair of WarioWare characters whom nobody even gives a flying fuck about
- A flying...thing that serves as a platform, but its series (hardly worth a damn to Nintendo) has no chance of getting more games again
- Simple pup which has no chance of being playable to begin with, also something that nobody.......Wait, does anybody care about this? Well, okay...
- The star of Punch-Out, a defining series of Nintendo, who might stand a better chance of playability next time
- Kirby helper/enemy with the basic attack potential, but still a minor character
- A bunch of sprites from a certain everlasting NES classic
- The SimCity guy who is surprisingly not owned by Maxis
- The guy from that one Pac-Man attempt that literally went straight to hell
- One of the main Earthbound characters (one of them)
- Hero of Golden Sun who may later be replaced by the current one
- Hero of Sin & Punishment who...ditto
- Drill Dozer heroine who shows some promise
- Random Fire Emblem character who is destined to not really be cared about by anyone
- Ugly, ugly Band Bros. character who completely fails at her role as an Assist Trophy
- Miniature robot which won't be getting any more games soon
- Basic units of the supposed sister series of Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, which has an uncertain future at the moment
- MGS representative
- Sonic representative
Man, what a stretch, these. But when you narrow it down and put it all into perspective (yep), some of these are some weird choices. Remember, you can't just slap every character you can think of into it. Go too far with it and then you'll end up having them all being completely repetitive and uninteresting. As fun as it would be to have Cranky being the hinder-not-help ranter, you can't have both him and Mr. Resetti in there. It has to be either one or the other. In short, this is one of those points where gameplay is still a bit more important than fanwank. Assist Trophies, by and large, are as random as they come. There's no telling who and what will show up next. Some may stay, some may go. And new ones may pop up.

Duck Hunt Dog shall be the assist throphy. (-lwl-)
He'll be like Goldeen, plus, he'll laugh at you. XDDD
Stafy though... (-l_l-) I'd wish him to be a real character for once. The marine platformer theme would give idea for his aquatic moves as attacks.
Hmm-
Once more time- Super Mario Galaxy-stage.

If Andross hadn't been the "metallic turd" one, we'd complain about the real one not being a boss, wouldn't we? xD
