Though I just don't like the "fame effect" of SSB- Those who appear in it will be having great time being known over the world and stuff. (Ice Climbers are now like, EVERYWHERE)
But aside from that, some characters still don't ever get any games despite their appearance in SSB. (-=>=-)
I wonder though, if SSB4 might come out presumably after three or four years, what stuff will happen in meantime? (-lbl-) And might that be used in it?

I really think there are five reasons why characters get in.
Type 1: Important Characters from Important Franchise These are the ones who get the most characters, like Mario, Zelda or Pokemon. These are top priority. (Mario)
Type 2: Creators Favorite Characters These get in because the creator, Sakurai, was a fan. (Lucas)
Type 3: Current Characters These are characters that came from a game that recently came out to either promote said game or because it is currently fresh in the audience's minds. (Roy)
Type 4: Fan Favorite Characters These are characters that get in because of such a huge request for them. Its highly unlikely but it has happened. (Sonic)
Type 5: Wild Card Characters These are the rarest and are exempt from the above rules. (Snake)
Type 4 and 5 are rare and include Snake and Sonic.

@ Type 1
"Important" means it's something that helps keep the company (Nintendo) running, right?
@ Type 2 & 5
Snake can be associated with Type 2. Although Sakurai didn't request him, some characters might have been requested by other designers and employees like Kojima for example.
@ Type 3
More like "Promotional Characters". "Current Characters" sounds a little too generic.
@ Type 4
In fact, Sakurai created polls for SSBM and SSBB. He might do the same with SSB4.

@ Type 4 In fact, Sakurai created polls for SSBM and SSBB. He might do the same with SSB4. Which is funny, because Dedede was supposed to be in 64. Then he was totally left out of Melee. Later, he scored highest on the Japanese poll so he's in because... A) He was created by Sakurai B) Represents a big franchise C) Fan demand

I dunno about that. I only ever see them in fanart specifically centered on Smash Bros./general Nintendo crossovers.

Too bad. ENTERTAINAH TIME.* Laughs.* That should sum it. I don't wanna get tweets consisting purely by character requests if I had popular game in veins of SSB.

What I really wonder about the most in SSB so far is how and where the whole Giga Bowser idea came from, starting with Melee.

Simple: Bowser is a big reptilian monster. They thought it would be cool if he could turn into a bigger, more reptilian, more monstrous monster. So he did.

Serves everyone right for jumping on the hype train this early. I can definitely do without all the eventual insanity for a few more years.

I'm actually kinda hoping they don't show a thing, not even a cinematic trailer, until E3 2015 or whatever. Then Reggie's all 'Check this shit out, release date within the next 4 months, BAM!'. That way the long wait won't be made longer with awesome daily updates on how the stock images are back and that Dr.Mario still isn't an alt outfit
But chances are they totally will do the preview update stuff again a year+ before release, so here's hoping they'll handle it like Melee and just show off a bunch of stuff once or twice a week.

8Bit's idea is fantastic. Purely. I mean, wouldn't it be fun that even after a big wait, when this's shown in E3 2014 or 2015, it will surely be ready for release.
Dojo-updates IMO ruined most of the goodiness of Brawl, we should've gotten to see those all the suprises myself.

I loved the Dojo updates, but I agree a weekly dose of goodies would be better than a daily dose of sometimes awesome but usually dull. Remember how nuts everyone went when the Gooey Bomb was shown? ITS FORM HALO! MA5TER CHEIF CONFIRMED!!
But I love the Dojo updates because it gave me something to look forward to. Actually playing Smash Bros. didn't last as long as my devotion to following the site updates.
Maybe we can get a Smash Dojo Channel for Wii U! ;D
