In the Nantendo HQ cafeteria, there are two machines along the back wall. These machines are the Disk Writer and Disk Fax kiosks used for the Famicom Disk System.

Oh interesting! I'll need to track down that flyer of the Disk System (somewhere in my hard drive) for comparison.

Isn't in interesting/awesome when someone finds cameos that have lain unnoticed for two decades?

Isn't in interesting/awesome when someone finds cameos that have lain unnoticed for two decades? That sure is awesome. I now wonder, if Marvelous got translated, would there be any cameos unfolded there?

Uhm, I wonder will this qualify as a cameo, but Podoboos appear at the underground passages of Eclair Palace. You'll meet them when you have to visit the palace third time (when you have to rescue the villagers from Hot Springs... or was it A La Mode?) Some don't just move up only BTW, some also fly in arc to other side of the screen.

Can't hurt to mention it, especially with how similar they look.

Wow, that's cool. Rare to see such a direct reference to someone in a Nintendo game like that. Outside of Iwata in WarioWare, I guess.

That is pretty cool. I wonder if he had any involvement in the game...

Hey guys, Nantendo's still not done with references on Nintendo: I found another pun! At almost near end of the game, when Dr.Arewonstain (A.k.a Dr.Knit) was done with it's animal control machine, Sable asked if it was able to control huge mammoths (as you have to battle one in the game) The reply was hilarious. Mamicon? XDDD It sounds like Famicom! Seemingly it's a pun on that name. I think the translator didn't get the reference and translated this roughly, but still. Also, that robot looks LITTLE BIT like R.O.B. Dunno if that's a cameo though. So will this "Mamicon"-pun qualify as a pun'd cameo?

Hmm, not really on this one... Remocon is a common Japanese abbreviation for remote controller.

Hmm, not really on this one... Remocon is a common Japanese abbreviation for remote controller. I wonder... It just sounds so much like Famicom... Maybe they tried to make double pun on mixing Famicom + Remocon? And replacing first letter with M?

The only reason I can see for them calling a mammoth controller a Mamicon (rather than Mamocon) is because it sounds like Famicom.

I'll make that judgement when I see the original Japanese text methinks. It's possible it's intentional, but if the katakana reads "Mamocon" or something then I'll hold fire.
Luckily I'm up to Nantendo on the Japanese version already.
