There was never a Gale of Darkness port announced, that was a 2ch fake.

Why don't news sites inform me of these things??
I'm honestly not expecting anything more than a new years greetings, some rambling about new event Pokemon and perhaps a Pokebox WiiU edition.

Megatons dropped. Pokeymans X and Y confirmed. October 2013 Worldwide release. Starter Pokes shown (Grass... something in a costume, Fire (Fennec) Fox, Water Frog) Legendaries (presumably Pokemon 'X' and 'Y' briefly shown) Legendary 'X'? Just for completion sake, Pokemon Y Additional Megaton: The 'first' version is Blue, the secondary is now 'Red'

I love the Grass and Water starters, they're super cute. Don't really care about the Fire one, which is weird because I love foxes. Not having to wait a hundred years for the UK release might mean I actually avoid spoiling everything this time...

Since no ones commented on it, the "setting" for the new game definitly looks like Paris (with Eiffel Tower expy) and also French countryside locations? Even the Pikachu intro video show his attack originating from there. It will be interesting to see what ideas/locations come from this, it's good to see Game Freak still continuing with regions that aren't based off Japanese ones.
Also looks like characters can rollerblade?

From Bulbagarden, via GAF When are we going to get our 'every Pokemon is out to kill you' Australian region, Nintendo? This is an outrage.

3,800 post! From Bulbagarden, via GAF Junichi_Masuda was just in France, and his Twitter photo is him with the Eiffel Tower We have what appears to be an Eiffel Tower like structure in the trailer, together with other classical European style architecture Starters based on things stereotypically associated with France, including Chestnuts, Frogs and Fennec The Cartesian coordinate system (you know, X & Y) was developed by René Descartes, a French philosopher Gen VI confirmed for France. - Okay that's interesting - Didn't notice the European architecture - Starters based on French stuff, that's pretty awesome, (Looks it's Baguttemon! and GiantFrenchSewerRat AKA new Gen VI Rattata) - Okay my mind has just been blown by that fact . . . When are we going to get our 'every Pokemon is out to kill you' Australian region, Nintendo? This is an outrage. When they introduce Health bars/stats to Trainers themselves

Oh daaaayumn. Well, that's one of my 2013 predictions off the list I was hoping after Pokemarica the next one would take place in ye olde Pokeurope. And agreeing on the Grass and Water starters. They just look so dopey/happy! Not having to wait a hundred years for the UK release might mean I actually avoid spoiling everything this time... That's what I'm planning. I probably won't be able to resist looking at the few designs they show off pre-october, but I'll be taking an internet vacation on release day. Want to surprise myself with the crazy evolutions these monster turns into (and get cranky as I catch the X/Y equivalent of Plusle and train it to lvl 57 before I figure out it's just a puny weakling)

For once I am actually okay with how the legendaries and starters look. Although I am disappointed that they are using a Water Frog and a Fire Fox. We already got those, and we have enough frogs. Oh well atleast they have a nice design to them.

It is the first time the games don't have the word "Version" in the name, apparently.
The X legendary has X's for pupils.

Anyone else get a feeling that these starters will have a Dark, Psychic and Fighting secondary type? Chespin's attack at 7:55 looks like Night Slash, Fennakin's attack on 8:02 looks like Psywave and I've heard that Froakie's attack on 8:11 looks like a fighting type attack.
As for the worldwide release... that's probably my favorite info so far. I would always spoil the new generation for myself after the japanese release.

I have always wanted it since the 3rd gen.
Grass / Dark Fire / Psychic Water / Fighting
Just please no more Fire / Fighting starters. Blaziken was cool. Infernape felt repetitive. Emboar is just... Aww, who am I kidding? Emboar was the best-looking one of the three even though its type combo was tiresome. IMO.
This is actually making me reconsider my decision I made 10 years ago. Maybe I might get back into Pokemon after a decade.

While Y would preferably wait a little longer (I just got black 2), the games look awesome!! but maybe I will wait for the inevitable Pokémon Z.
