...I watched the whole thing, and was deeply impressed. And then forgot about this thread entirely.
Also, impression aside, I don't really have much to comment.

The SM3DW trailer is incredible. Lots of great gimmicks, including the neat new Double Cherry power-up, that have the potential to have really fun levels built around them.
Also, the return of the Kuribo Shoe! Sort of! It's about dang time.

Yay, for 5th character, I wonder if EAD told Sakurai of this person?
Also, I hope Miiverse functionality will make it easy to grab screenshots from 3DS games for the site.

For a character that's considered a spoiler, I've already seen it specifically mentioned in headlines. It's nearly impossible to avoid it at this point.

For a character that's considered a spoiler, I've already seen it specifically mentioned in headlines. It's nearly impossible to avoid it at this point. Nintendo's not really helping either. www.youtube.com/user/Nintendo/videosThe thumbnail for the "10 New Things" trailer shows the unlockable character right in plain site, so you'll still see who it is even if you don't click on the trailer. In all honesty I don't see what the big deal is with knowing a playable character in a Mario game, unlockable or not. I just don't understand why Nintendo made such a big deal over spoilers during the Nintendo Direct, and then immediately made no effort to try and hide anything.

I guess they're not hiding the spoilers since lots of speculations and reviewes have predicted this anyway. Still, to tell late-game elements straightaway like this.... Now I don't understand Nintendo's "show only things in Worlds 1 and 2" guideline given to reviewers.

Japan just had their own Direct, most of the content was the same with the exception of new AR cards featuring Animal Crossing and Pikmin characters. www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/ar_photo/

Chibi-Robo!: Photo Finder - The eShop game features contests where players are awarded special costumes. Releasing January 9 Bravely Default - Demo launches on January 2, which features a unique story not featured in the retail game. Full version to be released on February 7 Pokemon Bank - Trial version to be available from December 27 til January 31. Anyone who downloads it by September 30, 2014 receives a free Celebi. Wii Sports Club - Golf now features new courses based off of the Famicom game Golf U.S. Course. Available now. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze - David Wise returns and scores the entire soundtrack. Funky Kong now runs the item shop for Cranky. Releasing February 21. NES Remix - A Wii U eShop game featuring 16 NES games remixed into new ways. Rescue Pauline with Link or fight a giant Bowser. Available now. Dr. Luigi - Luigi now has his own medical license, and has created his own L shaped pills. Releasing December 31 Sonic Lost World DLC - Two new Nintendo themed DLC stages are coming to the Wii U version of Sonic Lost World. The first one is based on Yoshi's Island, and is available now. The second one will be released early next year. Mario Kart 8 - Babies Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Daisy return alongside Rosalina. Releasing next year. Super Smash Bros. - Rosalina & Luma Launch into Battle! Also in the Japanese Direct, Monster Hunter 4 was shown receiving its own Puzzle Swap puzzle. That makes it the only third party game to have a puzzle. I take that as a sign of a western release incoming.

My, my... what have we got there...
JP version news, sorted by publisher
SEGA Yoshi's Story stage in Sonic Lost World Puyopuyo/Tetris crossover, players can now switch between both games and there are new characters
Koei Tecmo Zelda Musou, with Link slaying enemies in large hordes
Square Enix Theatrhythm Final Fantasy (would you please stop promoting games not on Nintendo systems like FF13 and FF14, Iwata?) New Dragon Quest (didn't pay attention to this)
Bandai Yet another Game Center CX
Marvellous New Harvest Moon, where you can now produce Super Mushrooms, Fire Flowers and Super Stars
Nintendo (licensed) Nintendo is going to publish Trine 2 in Japan
Nintendo Rosalina in Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U!! Mario Kart 8, now with an airport stage and sees the return of the babies and Rosalina Kirby Triple Deluxe, where we see an arena fighting game and all 4 new abilities (Circus, Sniper, Beetle, Bell) Wii Sports Club now has Golf (I predict there will be cases of accidentally stomped Wii U GamePads) Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze's opening revealed New Fossil Fighter feels somewhat like Pokémon to me Famicom Remix, a crossover of 16 Famicom games where ylou complete certain tasks like completing SMB1 World 1-2 with a mirrored screen, rescuing Pauline as Link, playing as the Condor in Ice Climber, complete Excitebike in the dark and so on
There are other things I've probably missed, but I don't really care. I got my helping of Kirby, DK and Smash, and that's good enough to me.
EDIT 1 - Oh, I missed Arika's downloadable Wii U title Dr. Luigi. EDIT 2 - Also, registering an NNID on a 3DS will get you Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. EDIT 3 - ...And that there is now a Band Brothers downloadable tool for playing the multiplayer mode. EDIT 4 - And Pokémon Bank and Pokémove, tools for transferring B/W/B2/W2 Pokémon to X/Y.
